I think I mistyped my password when saving, so there's now /no way/ for me to recover my island... there should really be a 'retype your password' when first saving, it'd cut down on this a lot!

And I was really pretty close to having all the heart bits. ... I kinda got addicted and did all but two before having to quit, and that was mostly to let my browser do some maintenance :P

Perhaps, if you have to restart you should save earlier on for the password verification. I tend to save games pretty frequently as I'm playing them, force of habit from the days when games were actually HARD I suppose, so I saved as soon as I could.
I personally did not have this problem, if I even think I have mistyped my password I start again. But if your pw is long then try shortening it a bit or something, it's not like people are going to hack your account on this (it would be pointless).
Password retyping may be a good idea though. make some peoples lives easier or whatnot. I don't even remember having to type my pw to save though D=
