Whjat do I do when the Ghost is asking "Have you found a fox yet? My ghostly liver is pining for their companionship." What do I do?

yea, I think that quest is a bit buggy, a lot of people have this problem. I found a fox and the quest didnt complete til I bought/found another fox. Either keep buying or restart from last save or clear your cache.

build the fox house you shoud have and click on the fox standing next to it

have a fox walk behind you and talk to him see if that work's
