View Full Version : Help Andre think of an idea

I accidentally entered a competition which means I have to sit at a table for 12 hours at a game expo showing people bunni. I don't really want to sit at a table for 12 hours.
I need some exciting ideas that are cheap... so that I can run my table without necessarily being there. Any crazy stunts are welcome. Or any good ideas for expo tables for bunni in general are also welcome. I've never had to sit at a trestle table all day talking about myself
Anyway.. Bunni will be at this thing http://www.gameconnectap.com/

How about some cute promogirls in bunni costumes (http://bunnibunni.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2843) standing around, so you don't have to. :-) They'd surely get the attention too. ;)
Okay, so that might not be cheap, unless you know someone personally who'd help you out with that.
Another thing I have seen other game companies do for such shows is placing life-sized cutouts of the game's characters around the booth. Since the Bunni characters are so cute, this would be worth showing upfront. The art is already all vectors, right? So resolution shouldn't be a problem either.
Another group handed out poster calendars with their game art printed on it. It's the perfect season for this, and it helps keep the game in their minds after the show. If the budget is tight, you could do those pocket calendars instead - I don't know about Au, but they're pretty cheap to print here.
I wouldn't fret about leaving the booth empty for some time. I've never seen any developer manning the station all the time. Assuming that there will be a playable demo/full game there, visitors will be busy playing that and having their own impressions.
Or you could ask some friends to come along and help. If this event was here in Bangkok, I'd do it in a heartbeat. ;)
I'll write again if other ideas come up.
Good luck Andre, and have fun! ^_^

Wow... I so need those Bunni2 girls :)
:peach-smilie::coriander2:
The problem is I don't really make any money out of doing it. So I'm not keen on spending a great deal!
But all super duper ideas :) Pity you are not down in Melbourne that weekend :)

Pity you are not down in Melbourne that weekend :)
Yeah, pity indeed, and this is not the first time I thought that. :)
I'll look through my game festival pics, maybe that'll bring about some ideas that'd be more useful, and I'll ask friends about it too. :)

I'm not sure of any ideas, other than maybe something like colouring in sheets or something?
If I lived in melbourne I would come help out as well, dressed up in a bunni outfit LOL?
Dress up Orla and she'll be so cute and draw in the crowds your day won't be so boring!

I like the cut-outs characters idea.

I don't have Orla that day to keep me company. I really would have liked her to come... but she probably would have got bored eventually.
I'm tempted to prototype a game while I am there. So I have something to do and I could have the current build on a computer for people to test. That way it wouldn't be a complete waste of time.

Awww, oh well, I'm sure you will come up with something. I don't go to those sorts of things so I really have no ideas, sorry D:

Hmm... Well, maybe if you had enough on bunni 2, you could make like a demo video and just keep looping it or something. Or even a video on bunni 1.

kittenlazars :) that's not a bad idea at all. I just realized that if I'm at the exhibit I miss the whole conference which is pointless really. I might give them a call tomorrow and see if I can get out of it lol.... I want to see the conference and go to the talks and not be sitting at a desk all day missing it. Maybe a TV can take my place. LOL. And I can have a cut out of me on the chair :piratemonster:
I actually have to be there two days running 10 hours a day. Either that or maybe I can just sit there and work on Bunni 2 and people can watch me and try out the latest build while I work on it. That way I at least haven't wasted two days. I still miss the talks though which would be ashame.

um lose the contest so you dont have to do it?
or say: "hi. bunni is fun so go play it. now goodbye, i have to go and um... make bunni2 because everyone on the forums wants me too."
or you can give them mustard with pictures of pandas on them
or get a big sceen and show pirate peach dancing
or wear a :blackbunni: costume for no reason
or tell everybody madi2 is awsome
or make a robot bunny really fast and then make it say "i wanna make you guys plant me some roses nearby.."
or fill up a cash-shooter with cash and pictures if the bunni king so they can just count thier moeny and not bother you while you sleep for the rest of the time
or put up a poster with bunni pics that says "EAT THIS POSTER FOR GOOD LUCK" and then they get food poisining and you escape

Madi2, very refreshing ideas :D
I particularly like
- get a big sceen and show pirate peach dancing
- make a robot bunny really fast and then make it say "i wanna make you guys plant me some roses nearby.."
- and put up a poster with bunni pics that says "EAT THIS POSTER FOR GOOD LUCK" and then they get food poisining and you escape
Have you done this sort of thing before :)

I have a suggestion! Get a person to make bunni / monster / fox / panda plushies, and when you advertise it, you can say, "Play Bunni and get a free plushy!" It could catch little children's attentions! :D

Heh, the demo idea sounds nice. I have one suggestion, sorry xD.
Somewhat like Madi's robot bunny idea, you could make a cut-out of yourself that would answer some classic interview questions with a recording on the back. Plus, you could have some Bunny collectibles for show. If that's not enough, you could also have a video of people playing Bunni/ about Bunni, along with a sneak-peek about what will be in Bunni 2.
Sorry if these suggestions aren't good- I hope you find something to help you with the contest, and solve your problem about the conference. :)
