It is hard to say. While ninjas are swift, secret, and deadly, in a match where pirates are facing ninjas head on, I'd give the advantage to the pirate. Ninjas specialize in surprise attacks and assassinations. Pirates are able to handle the conditions of an open fight even with a disadvantage such as lack of speed. Pirates have more modern weaponery too.

I'm more of a secretive stealth like person myself rather than loud and bawdy. Personally I think it comes down to personality preference which is what I based my vote on (typically I don't really care otherwise).

It depends on what kind of ninja, stereotypical ninjas would freak out- But obviously they'd be open minded and dodge the bullet anyway. Even though Pirates are drunkards and can still aim perfectly after 45 bottles and on going, ninja speed is too fast for a pirate to accumulate. And not only that, pirates SHOOT AT the target, not TO. Part of a secret in being a ninja is to SHOOT TO the target, on where it's going, it's why their flying dagger/ shuriken are so accurate. Imagine that though.. Pirate ninjas... THat'd.. be awesome if they combined xD.

Traditionally, pirates didn't use guns, because you know, pirates have been around a lot longer than guns have. Also pirate is just a glorified name for someone who steals from others, except it was stereotyped to encompass only 'sea thieves' more or less, notorious, rugged, violent alcoholics that sail the seas with eye patches and wooden legs and hook hands, boarding ships and stealing from the rich and hoarding it in secret coves.

But now, people who steal movies/games/music etc. off the internet are also known as pirates. Thus the definition of the term 'pirate' remains the same, but the stereotype of the term 'pirate' is changing to accomodate for the present times. Weird huh.

I don't know... these merchants today have it easy and they're still complaining. I'd imagine that back in the day, sea merchants would have been relieved if pirates only made copies of their precious merchandise, not actually took it away. ;)

Solution: let's take the complainers back to the good ol' days; bust into the corporate offices, take all the source code and burn down the buildings. Then pile the disks up in treasure chests and bury them secretly under the sand. X marks the spot.

Then, they can justifiably use the name "pirates" for today's phenomenon.

why is it that people always look at the good qualities of a ninja and the bad ones of a pirate? In my opinion ninjas were bad guys too they were used to kill people! those killings must have caused a lot of chaos! Pirates were just making a living. Like the vikings! people always look at the bad parts of vikings! Why?!?!?! its all biased >.<

Yni pirates lived a life of theft and law breaking they didn't have many morally good qualities but as fighters they could get the job done need be. Ninja's were assassins of the government and depending on said government they were either good or bad, and they also got the job done.

when did they work for the government? i only ever hear about them fighting samurai which were the governments... so.....

I'd say pirates. You can get sky pirates. No sky ninjas. Pirates sail the seas. The ninjas can... Hide in trees (that rhymed)? therefore, I vote pirates.
