Okay, so recently, I started going on other websites that were based on vbulletin, and I noticed a section. And it was called a newbie section.
So how come there is no Newbie section? Dx A lot of new people are ignoring the Introduction Thread.
So basically, I'm asking for a newbie section.

I imagine the reason for this is what you already stated.
Newbies are ignoring the introduction thread and I think a large amount would also ignore a newbie section (especially since ALOT of them are one time posters). Most of the people who do stick around do post in the introduction thread so...
I guess a newbie section could be good but I imagine alot of people would still ignore it anyway

Most of the 'new' people who 'ignore' the introduction thread are spam bots.
Perhaps a newbie forum would be a good idea, however I just don't think there are that many new members joining to warrant one. I guess I'm neutral on this one <_> I don't really know what think, while the friendly side of me thinks 'this is a great idea' the practical side of me says 'but do we really need it or would it just be a waste?'
And as Ivernus said, people would most likely just ignore that as well, like they ignore every other thing we put up (walkthrough, stickies, guidelines, rules, known bugs etc.)

yea, I have seen such introduction forum but mostly just cluttered with one post topic. 'hi im new here' and no one care. Imo, it is discouraging :) .

Could we make it that if you want to make a post you HAVE to first post in the introduction thread?

That would be a good idea. But, it might end up with them asking questions or doing whatever they were going to post on the Introductions Thread.

I sorta ignored the intro thread... I'm not a spam bot or anything; in fact, I go on this practically every day! Just had to get that out.

I was referring to threads such as: "hi" or "hi I'm new" or "thought I'd introduce myself". These 'people' who 'ignore' the intro thread are in fact spam bots and if you see threads like these (usually they appear in Art Showcase) then you should report them so a mod can get rid of it.

By having that as the only forum newcomers can post, we can't diferenate real people with bots ;) .

Not to mention people would be all "hurr durr I can't post my question in the bunni chat forum why???" People are already asking all about avatar changing and stuff when they can't modify their avatar because of new restrictions. We don't want to confuse people too much.
