PuyoPuyo playing ..

Well , for people who do not know puyopuyo ( actually i think none in forum know it)

It is a puzzle game may looks like tetris .

actually i wanted to post it suggest game thread , but im too lazy to take a snap shot and so on ..

before watch video , i would explain rules .

1 - u have to gather 4 same colour or more blocks to explode blocks ( Korean call this block as Puyo , but .. nevermind )

2 - this game is 1 vs 1 way .

3 - if u succeed to explode blocks , opponent will get " disturbance block "

4 - if u succeed to explode blocks continuosely , opponent will get sufficient amount of disturbance block .

5- if blooks reach where bloocks come out , game is over.

THIS video shows u 19 combo ( highest ), my record is 10 ....

i thought puyo was a dance thing.. because i remember i had a game on ds called puyo puyo pop fever or whatever.

Puyo Puyo is in its original form the Puzzle game shown here, although there are alot of games with very similiar names. Quite a fan of it myself, having just got the ds version of it afew weeks ago im still quite rusty at it after nto playing it for a fair few years.
That videos combo is insane o.o, Best I've ever done is a 12 chainer and I almost died pulling it off. Just wondering Chaos, do you happen to know an online flash version? Maybe if someone finds one we can suggest it on 'suggest a game'

usually flash game that copied PuyoPuyo does not have any opponent ,

beside , colour nor sound is good ..

I think it will ruin puyopuyo's reputation lol

For international ( actually only korea and japan) tournament , they use "puyo puyo fever " (not pop! ) .

maybe they think fever system is good for dueling with " higher level " people .

oh yes , and this video , actually , is tricked .

i heared that it used save & load ( maybe used some tools ) to get a good puyo ..

video is from puyopuyo 2 ( or PuyoPuyoTsu ) , there is Japanese one and Korean one . interface and sound is good in Korean one but Japanese give good blocks , and AI is better in Japanese .

Mmm they really use Fever for tournament level? I've never really been a fan of that mode, probably because Im horrible at it XD. Mmm...I might go look around and see if I can find a decent flash version...maybe one thats let you verse other people across the net

uhm.. ithere should be one on a puyo puyo site :3.

puyo is just like tetris right?. but you have to match the coloured puyo's?

Its ..similiar to tetris in that in three ways
1) You place blocks
2) The blocks come down 1 at a time from the top middle
3) Blocks reach the top middle and you lose

Its different in that
1) You clear blocks by putting 4 of the same color together in any shape (not including diagonals)
2) Blocks are only the two piece variety
3) The secret to doing well is mastering how to do large chains
