No one for sure knows what will happen in 2012, yes the mayan calender ends that year, yes people belive the world will end that year but remeber people have belived that the world was going to end other years to but it never happened so no one is sure. So lets wait and see what happens. ^-^

Short thing from the history channel. Personally I don't think that anything will really happen.

Apparently I Ching predicts the exact date as well.

Something to do with the alignment of the earth sun and centre of the galaxy where there is a black hole. Read somewhere something happens with the gravity because of the black hole, apparently this causes polar shift where the poles literally shift positions on the earth. It's happened in the past apparently but who knows, this is the theory they throw out there.

Personally I doubt anything will happen, the end of the calender doesn't mean the end of the world, I think the calender just breaks down at this point, similiarly with the I Ching that was made about the same time, like infinity is where maths breaksdown I think 2012 is where these two prophetical instruments breakdown.

And it's not the end of the world either, it would only be the end of civilisation as we know it... I love how the I Ching approaches an all time low as it nears the most recent centuries lol...

I've said that already. But yeah, the calendar that ends in 2012 is actually like their fifth one, so they just died before the next one. And technically It would start over I think.

The earth will be destroyed long before the sun goes supergiant. Most likely from the gamma radiation of a near by star going super nova. Or what would be even more fun is if our galaxy collides with another, which it's actually supposed to eventually.

Eh, I watched some video about 2012 talking about Solar Flares, then watched a video about Solar Flares. Basically the Solar Flares will take out our power plants and electricity bringing us back to the stone age, and since everything relies on technology, the human race will be in chaos? Or something else could happen SWINE FLU XD. But the solar flares, if strong enough can just burn us all to death. But then again the scientists studying these solar flares could all be wrong.

Yeah in the next few years there are supposed to be record breaking amounts of solar flares. And if enough of them are concentrated in 1 amount of time then they will knock out the earth's electricity for about 20 years.

we won't be stone age. More like medival. Things would definitely be different and it would take maybe a few more years after we can use electricty again that we would start. If it does happen i just hope we as a race can learn from it.
