So this is something I just felt like writing because I got this emotional feeling just so I could write this, but now it is gone. So read and laugh at how stupid it sounds. xD
Free
Free!! The butterfly soared high in the sky, finally free of the bondage that kept him from his flight. But now he was free!! No, more waiting in the small cocoon for his transformation. The Monarch glided over a small forest and over a shining lake. “At last” he thought, “ It is time to see the world!!” He floated down to a log and rested upon it. Around him was a luscious green, the lake was filled with fish, and wildlife roamed everywhere. What a beautiful world he lived in.
Then the new flier took flight. He leaped from the log and again soared over the lake. He came out of the forest into a city busy with people walking to and fro. Cars stuck in traffic, women working on rooftop gardens, and young schoolboys playing baseball in the local park. It was a beautiful spring day. But with all the excitement there was one thing the butterfly noticed, one little girl sitting behind a big building on a bench by a fountain. As the butterfly flew over her and just as he was about to look up and move on he saw the little girl look up at him.
She looked very sad and lonely, but when she saw the butterfly gliding so majestically she beamed with happiness. The butterfly suddenly filled up with pride that one small girl would notice his flying. He thought he would make her happier by spiraling down, down, and alighting on her nose. And so he did. The girl giggled. The tiny feet of the butterfly tickled the nose of the girl. Just hearing the little girl laugh made the butterfly laugh to. He flapped his wings in a fit of giggling. He took off into the sky looping and spiraling in such happiness.
The girl was as glad as she had been in a long time. She watched as the butterfly looped, spiraled, and then flew away. She stared after him imagining where he would fly to now. Then the little girl’s father stepped out the back door of the large building and yelled, “Miracle, come in out of the sun please” “Yes, Father.” Miracle took one more look at where the Monarch had disappeared then disappeared into the hospital. Miracle was a little girl who was diagnosed with lung cancer only three months ago. She had been undergoing Chemotherapy for all this time and with no avail. Miracle had almost given up hope of surviving cancer until this in counter. When she saw that butterfly she knew that it was a sign. A sign that she should keep going.
She thought about how the butterfly must have felt trapped in that cocoon. Maybe in pain, all alone, and very scared of what to come, but when he was released. Oh, the joy he must have felt. Miracle compared their lives. Both had gone through a time when they where trapped. One had broken from the bondage, but she was still bonded to this pain and aloneness. Miracle, even though young decided that she to would be released. No, matter what pain she went through. One month later she was free of the cancer and she was able to go home. All bills paid and cancer free. It was a miracle. She was free!!
