Hi!

Me and my friend going to make a pet game. The concept is you raising a cute monster in a bizzare island. The pet will have evolution based on what foods, caring, and also items you gave to it. For buying stuffs, you need to grow a basic lawn (put seed, water everyday, harvest). The pet can get sick too! And the sickness is odd that you need to find what kind of bizarre medicine that fit for it. There also three tree of all tree which if you keep giving it money, it will give you random / rare items.

What do you think I should have on this game?
Would you prefer a lot of possible evolutions on one creature or three kind of creatures with limited evolutions?

Thanksie!

Will you have to wait a long time for the plant to grow?

I like the this kind of evolution:
1 creatures eats * amount of one food and changes into ####
if the creature eats 2 different foods he becomes @@@@
and the evolution is limited with 10-15 levels or unlimited evolution but i think unlimited evolution is impossible to make.

I like the sound of this game :D I think that three kinds of creatures would be cool.
Also I like monster's question, how long would it take for plants to grow and stuff? Would it be based closer to real life time or would it grow relatively fast?
This reminds me of tamagotchis, only better, lol.
How would you get money for the tree of all trees?

Unlimited evolutions is indeed impossible but you can make a very high number of evolutions using a formula. I mean if you need to eat 10 food to level up and there are 5 types of food, you have over 80000 unique combinations (obviously if your going to do something like this you want to have a formula that creates the creature based on the food, rather than making a specific creature for each combination)

On to which I would prefer, probably the three with limited evolutions, as it allows the game to develop in other parts, rather than just having massive amounts of evolutions to go through. As for things you should put it...perhaps allow the pet to do stuff (maybe a minigame so to speak), just to give an extra incentive to caring for your pet

No, just few game days. And you will get free foods at the beginning.

Also I like monster's question, how long would it take for plants to grow and stuff? Would it be based closer to real life time or would it grow relatively fast?
We will try with fast growth. You can press 'end day' anytime to end the day. But if you keep skipping day without maintaining the pet's need, it will runaway.

How would you get money for the tree of all trees?
Sell crops.

Unlimited evolutions is indeed impossible but you can make a very high number of evolutions using a formula.
The problem might on art. We thinking of cute animated pets here instead small pixel ones. If the artist drop out the project, I might think of making this to be simple pixel-art pet caring game (tamagochi yay!)and it I can make a loooooooot of evolutions.

The farming is.. just the only thing I can think for gaining money. I'm thinking of pet duel but that will need opponents animation so maybe after we see this success / not.

Talking about that, I could think of a simple 'horse racing' you can put your bet.

1. Dragon needed! :D

And I think having a choice of different creatures with limited evolutions is better, because then it has a better replay value and you get more people watching ads? (Thinking of money lol)

Actually,a basic monster would be cool.

The evolutions would sorta be like Spore, say your monster eats # of (insert something here),You would be able to choose a part(s) to place on your creature wherever you wanted.

Levels where you can select difficulty
As much as i love evolve and pet games, they usually take way to long and are way to hard.

That's a great idea Rose! :D Make sure you put in kewl bunnys and hawt mermaid foxes!

(Jk on the hawt mermaid foxes.)

Can there be turtles? :D The evolution can be like this:

Small Turtle > Adult Turtle > OMFG TURTLE WITH WINGS.

Cthulhu

When you get to the final evolution of a certain line, you should allow the pet to be reincarnated as a baby with some sort of benefits, so the player can experiment with different evolutions. Kinda like the chaos in the old sonic adventure games.
