[[Notice; You might remember me from BiW. I'm back! Trying to start a new RP here. Don't mind me. Do mind the RP though.]
Introduction: Short & Sweet (and maybe a little sour)
This is an Sci-Fi RP set far in the future, and involves many typical elements of the genre (aliens, laser weapons, space ships, fancy physics, etc.). The basic premise is that a colony ship and its escorts were attacked by an enemy faction and forced to crash on a habit deemed uninhabitable due to its hostile natives. The ship is full of not only humans, but various anthropomorphic Earth animals that humanity "ascended" to sentient level for use as servants. Furthermore, the ship crashed in the middle of a disputed territory that is being fought over by two rival clans of the native inhabitants of the planet. Therefore, the general idea of the RP is that the colonists are forced to build up a colony and choose a side to stay alive, all the while dealing with the various problems brought about by the clashes in ideals between the anthropomorphic animals (Anthros/Ascendants) and the humans caused by the differences in their positions in the grand heirarchy.
The RP will begin on the colony ship (the Dauntless) and/or it's two escorts (the Ascension of Light and the Ascension of Justice).
The Empires: Long, confusing, and probably not necessary unless you're really into the details.
Humanity:
The dominant force in the galaxy, humans are divided into multiple factions, although the largest two are the Grand Pheonix Empire and the Imperium. Most of the modern empires are based on classical beliefs, with the Imperium entirely based on the old Roman Empire. Although they are dominant, humanity's technology has plateau'd, and few advances are being made outside of the military.
The Grand Pheonix Empire: [The GPE]
The current dominant force in the galaxy, the GPE is a galactic empire at its peak. The economy is thriving and easily pays for the massive peacekeeping force spread across its domain to stop pirates. However, the economy is also funding private companies with personal armies that have begun skirmishing with each other over power, control, and resources. It's a majority human empire, with the acception of the Anthros that humanity has enhanced to use as servants. The Empire paid for the colony ship that the main characters are on at the beginning of the RP.
The Imperium:
The main competitor of the GPE is the Imperium, an empire greatly influenced by the old Roman Empire. Unlike the GPE, however, the Imperium is full of various different alien species, and the government is no longer majority human. Furthermore, the Imperium is also a safe haven for Anthros who seek equal rights and greater power, and as such the Anthros are frequently escaping to the Imperium, or feeding it secrets from inside the GPE. The Imperium funded the privateers that attacked the colony ship at the beginning of the RP.
Anthro/Ascendant:
The Anthros were originally Earth animals that humanity biologically modified to make them intelligent and strong enough to act as servants for humanity. They also added various other enhancements, such as the ability to manipulate gravity and light, and a strong emphasis on the family. Commonly regarded as humanity's greatest success, they have served their purpose immensely well. However, recently they have become dangerously observant of their inferior treatment. They have made various advancements in their rights, including the right to join on colonial missions, such as the one the RP is based on. Anthro species include Rabbits, Foxes, and Pand Bears.
The Empire of the Far East: [The EFE]
The smallest of the three main empires is the Empire of the Far East. It was originally founded by humans, but was eventually taken over by rebel Anthros. There are very few humans within the Empire of the Far East, and it is mainly Anthros and aliens. Although it is the smallest, the EFE is the most technologically advanced, and it uses many alien technologies not yet discovered or implemented by the other two powers.
Factions: Very unnecessary, as it only will affect people playing as Anthros.
Anthro/Ascendant:
Advancer:
The only real main faction in the Ascendants is the Advancer faction. They believe in acquiring loads of technology of any kind, and then using it to create a society far more advanced militarily and economically than the GPE, thus allowing them to secure their independence and begin their own, utopian paradise within the EFE. The Advancer faction supports many guerrilla cells with the GPE, and helps extract Ascendants that want to escape.

3. If you know you're going to become inactive soon, don't join. If you have to/want to quit the RP at any time, please post so. You're character will indeed be killed off though.
4. This is the OoC thread. Only non-RP posts such as applications go here. The actual RP topic will be started once I get a sufficient number of applications (at least 4-5, hopefully). There will be a link at the top of both threads to the other.
