After playing this neat game, I heard faint bunni-whispers inside my head. I just had to give in to the urge to make fan-art to appease the bunni spirits. ;)

This is supposed to be an imaginary postcard from Bunni island, featuring Pirate Peach stranded on a small island, and a mysterious item in a floating bottle.
Art was done mostly with Adobe Fireworks.
Thank you for making this inspirational and fun game! ^_^

Wow! This looks neat! I love the pirate sail! And the ball looks take a lot of works :o .Hehe with floating bottle, but I think Peach's lips should be red ;) .

Thanks - I'm glad you both like it! :D
Rose, thanks for the feedback! Now that you mention, I too see that red would have suited her lips better. Oh well... I wanted to do an update on the edges anyway - I'll redo the lips too. ;)
The sail was the first idea, everything else was built around it.

I did, at one time. Now I make game art and animation, and write tutorials about Fireworks.
Thanks for checking out my little corner! ;-)

That picture is SO COOL. You reproduced the images fantastically!
I love the sail. It looks as if Pirate Peach could use a lil' rescue. ;)

Excellent! What is Adobe Fireworks? If you used photoshop, this would be Ahsem!

Fireworks, or Fw for short, is a bitmap and vector graphics editor.

Thank you. I'll look into it. I like to mess around on paint so yays for bitmap!

Well, learn yourself some vector graphics, in Fireworks or Illustrator, and you've made yourself one huge favor! :)

Thanks for the kind words. :)
I've updated the image; you can see it in the first post (http://bunnibunni.com/forums/showpost.php?p=927&postcount=1). Now it has proper postcard-like edges. I've also replaced the beachball with a more fitting treasure chest from the game. Oh, and I colored Peach's lips rosy-red too. ;)

Thanks! Fireworks is just another graphic editing app from Adobe. It has many functions similar to Photoshop and Illustrator (bitmap/vector stuff), a capable animation engine and many webdesign functions - everything but the kitchen sink, really. ;)

To be even more precise, Fireworkds is from the beginning the work of Macromedia, which Adobe bought. But it is still made to work great together with Dreamweaver!

So fireworks kinda a mix of graphic design, raster graphic design, and web design tools :D
I just using photoshop and flash but I had installed illustrator. Not sure if I will use it, I'm really hate drawing in vector -- to much shapes..

Yeah, the old Macromedia days! So, are you an old-time FW-user too?

I too have tried Illustrator and I know what you mean. A bunch of shapes, and those curves seem to have their own will! Vectors are much friendlier in Fireworks, and if shapes get too messy and confusing, I just turn them into rasters and vice-versa.
A Photoshop+tablet combo must be ideal for digital art! What kind of tablet do you use? I looked at a smaller Wacom the other day, and thought it would be neat for bringing my more traditional-style drawing style into the computer.
I'm just not sure I could do it with my eye peeled at the screen while drawing, and a Cintiq is a bit too pricey... ;)

I hasn't use illustrator for vector, I used to use flash for it. Really feel like everything determined by shapes. Also to make color blend I need to use gradient, and they don't seems natural enough. Unfortunatlly flash game developers and even users like vector art :( .
I use bamboo fun I win from wacom few months ago. It is hard at first to switch from mouse to tablet, took me like 48 hours or more to get used. But after that, I can't switch to mouse anymore and my speed increased by like 10x , accuracy also feels like no match. I advise you to not buy tablet other than wacom products, not that because I like wacom, but because I know the others hasn't able to make tablet with nice precision.

So it will be easier for your artistic hand-drawn art-style to stand out and get noticed from the crowd of vector-based games. ;)

Congrats for winning a Wacom! And thanks for the tips, I'll keep it in mind. :)
Do you have a place online where you display your art?

Sort of. I know how to use the program and so forth, but I used it mostly back in the days when I could profit form the integration with Dreamweaver. I don't write my websites in Dreamweaver anymore, however!

I am personally quite the fan of Illustrator, as I have grown to love it in some situation - much because of the shapes. When you work for a publishing house as a middle hand between the house and the printer, shapes become necessary. :)
Also, as for tablets, don't agonize about looking at the screen and not the tablet - you will get used, no doubt. It took me about an hour (although I guess it could take a day or two) and it is very, very handy. I do still use a mouse, though, as a steady hand on a steady mouse still is more precise than a Bamboo (that is not the case if one goes for a Intous4, though but I have not made that investment yet).
And the day I was in action of buying a tablet, I got a great tips from a friend: to determine which size you should use of a tablet, grab a paper and write something. Doesn't really matter what, really. Then you look at how you drew every line.
If you drew with long, sweeping motions, you will probably not feel good with a small-size tablet.
If you drew with short and fast strokes, you will probably just hurt your arm with a large tablet.

Yes Chokladkakan, thank you for the insightful tips! I haven't heard about that 'drawing test', but it makes sense. When I draw with pencil and paper, I draw small, meticulous details with short strokes, so I guess a smaller tablet will be the ideal solution. :)

Then the only question left to ask yourself is actually how much money you would want to spend on a tablet. If I had the money myself, I would go for a small size Intous4 any day - it is worth the price differences. But the Bamboo-series is in no way bad tablets - no other company can match even the Bamboos with their pro-tablets. :)
wow really reaaly goood work you got there :D
