The Six Swords of Power (RP thread)

BACKSTORY:

Civilization has reached its full and collapsed already. The Old World is in ruins, and the New Era has not yet begun.
And before it can begin, the Swords must be found.
For millions of years, the Swords were kept in a circular room, safe from all harm until they were needed again. Their keepers lived and died taking care of the Swords, but none of them actually ever wielded one of the Swords. Only the last successors took the Swords into battle.
And they lost. They lost because they did not know the true power of the Six Swords. The Swords were lost long ago, and now they must be found again before the New Era can begin.

Of all the places in the world to have to be stuck, why here? Why on this mountain? Stardancer wasn't hurt still from the attack she had suffered from the dragon on who's territory they were currently resting, but she was scared of being hurt again. The other attack had been almost a year ago, but now, just as they had been skirting around the edge of the fierce creature's land, it had attacked them again. Star had evaded it this time but they had been forced to crash-land on the dragon's mountainside, and they couldn't take to the air again- it was still patrolling above. As it was, they had to dodge occasional sweeps of fire as the dragon grew impatient and took to burning up the mountainside. Fortunately it had rained heavily just a few days ago, and the trees and forest were soggy so the fires didn't burn for long.
But still. Grounded here, in the worst place ever! Rohanna shook her head and poked the fire with her stick. Due to the dragon's fires, some of the wood near a strip of burning pine trees had dried out and Rohanna had fetched some of the dry wood to use in their own fire. The dragon had gone in for the night so it wouldn't see the light from their fire. As Rohanna watched, it popped and sparks spiraled up into the air. She looked into the star-strewn night sky.
So many stars! It would have been impossible to see three-quarters of these stars just ten years ago. Civilization's electric lights were dead, stopping the sky from being polluted with light. Rohanna sighed happily, but suddenly something swept overhead and cut the star's light from her eyes for a moment. Wings...

As Nomad and Renaldo were hiking around a particularly hard mountain range, Renaldo noticed a point of light out in the distance. "Look Nomad, I think someone has set up a fire nearby," said Renaldo. Nomad whipped around to the point of light. "What?!" shouted Nomad, "They must be crazy! This mountain range is ruled by one of the more dangerous dragons!". "What do you think we should do?" Said Renaldo. "As much as I loath interaction with my own kind," Nomad started, "I think we should go and help whatever poor soul is over there. Let's go Ren. Can you find the shortest path there?" "Of course I can," he said. "I think there's a fork a little bit back that leads to it, and I suspect it would only take a few minutes if we ran." "Very well," said Nomad. And they were off. They both were wearing small torches on their shoulders so that they could find each-other if they were separated. These torches had a special filter on them so that they could only be seen below and from an equal elevation. These torches are able to be seen from a somewhat large distance.

Star raised her head and puffed flames onto the dying fire. Rohanna searched the sky, ignoring the constellations- the Dragon, the Sword-Bearer, the Lion. Something was flying up there. Rohanna craned her neck, and her eyes widened as she realized that the dragon was not, in fact, resting in it's lair after all- it was still above them!
Star realized this too, staring at the sky. Instantly she leaned forwards and blew out a gust of wind, killing the already dying fire. Rohanna leaped up and onto Star's back as fire blasted onto the hillside behind them. Her knives were the only thing she had, really, so it was no trouble as Star leaped into the sky and soared over the trees, beating hard for altitude. She hadn't eaten in a while, but she was still light enough to fly. Rohanna leaned forwards on Star's back, wishing she was light enough to fly herself... but of course she couldn't. However, Shadow Striker could, and she turned and pushed the light falcon off her shoulder. He fluttered for a moment before shooting off into the night, and Rohanna knew she didn't have to worry about him anymore- he'd find his way back to her and Star. If they lived, that was.
They were just barely missing the tree tops. Star lurched and dropped, and Rohanna gasped involuntarily as they cleared a few trees and entered a brushy area. Star didn't have enough height or gas in her flight stomache to fly higher- they were stuck!
Something caught Rohanna's eye. She turned and glanced over to the left to see two strange, low-level lights charging towards them. Tapping Star's shoulder, Rohanna urged her friend to look at the lights as well, to see if she knew what they were.
Star probably would have been able to tell if the pair hadn't been suddenly distracted. One moment they were craning through the ominous night towards strange lights, the next the air was vibrating with a tremendous roar and fire was all around them, the bushes catching in spirals. The circles closed in on Star and Rohanna looked up to see the dragon circling, fire spewing from it's jaws. Star crouched and leaped outwards, nearly clearing the flames, but she didn't care if her feet got burned. There was a cliff nearby- if Star could manage to get to a cliff, she and Rohanna could glide to safety or even fly outside the dragon's territory. The dragon pursued them in the air as Star leaped across the bushes, trailing fire in her wake. Rohanna glanced at the lights and hoped they understood what was happening and weren't frightened by Star. Star couldn't open her wings yet- the unfamiliar dragon would burn them. Their only chance was to get to the cliff.

Both Renaldo and Nomad were startled when shapes leaped away from the fire, but they were amazed when all of the sudden a streak of fire appeared in the night. Nomad then took out his bow-gun and aimed for the dragon, hoping to wound it enough to make it go away. Before he shot, though, he lit the tips of the arrows on fire using Renaldo's torch. He aimed and started firing. (It shoots fast enough to let one arrow fly each second, and it holds about 3 or 4 at once.) Every shot he lit the arrow on fire. His aim was true and about 2 or 3 of the burning arrows hit the dragon, only one sticking, the others cutting the wings of the dragon. "That burning one should distract it long enough for us to leave," said Nomad. Renaldo nodded and both of them started their decent at a good turn of speed.

Alaya ran towards the safety of the cave, cradling Rolo because of his injured wing. The beast was closing in on her, just as a spark flew over the mountains. The beast started running towards it, chasing it into the valley. Alaya breathed a huge sigh of relief, before beginning to trudge up the mountain.

Lily woke to hear Sirik growling and barking. She sat up and swept away the leaves, grass and hay she had been using to keep warm.
'What's the matter, Sirik?' She asked, running to the mouth of the cave. Once she got there, she could hear exactly what he was barking at. Without the rock wall to muffle the noise, The roars of a dragon and the shouts of humans were easily audible. She stood, frozen by fear. Sirik continued to growl. She sat down on the rock.
'What should we do, Sirik? If we go out, we could see the first people since my parents died. But it could be dangerous!' Just as she was about to give up and go back to bed, two figures ran past the cave mouth.
Lily leapt up. 'C'mon, lets go get 'em, Sirik!' She ran after them. As she and Sirik gained ground, she noticed that both of the figures were carrying torches, and that one of them didn't look quite so... human?
'Hey! Stop!' Lily yelled.

Nomad heard the voice before Renaldo did and turned around. He asked, "What do you want?" Renaldo finally realized what he had heard and walked back to Nomad.

'I-I-I'm sorry,' stammered Lily, 'but I haven't seen another person for years, and I was so excited to see you that I didn't think. What's going on, anyway?'
Sirik caught up with Lily and started to growl at the less human-like of the two.

As Alaya went further up the hill, she saw 3 big figures and stopped to listen to what they were saying.

"The dragon tyrant of this mountain range has been awoken," said Nomad. "This really isn't a safe place to be right now. "Renaldo glanced at the dog and then grunted. "Nomad I really think we should get going," growled Renaldo. "Yes yes, but we have a little bit of time," said Nomad.

[RohannaFalcon]

Rohanna heard the shriek of arrows whipping through the air and looked back. Two dark figures were standing at the edge of the fire- Rohanna could barely see them through the flames. One of them had some sort of strange bow and was shooting at the dragon above. The arrows left a bright streak and Rohanna guessed they were on fire and sent a silent thanks to the person helping her and Star.
The dragon, distracted and in pain, ceased it's attack and pulled up. It snapped at the arrow lodged in between it's stomach plates and roared as the fire began to burn the soft flesh underneath. It writhed in midair before turning and flapping awkwardly away.
Star reached the cliff in a few bounds and unfolded her wings. Rohanna hoped that the people knew she was able to fly, but the worries slipped from her mind as Star leaped off the edge, huge feathery wings spread. She caught the air and Rohanna gave a silent thanks to night for sending them a veritable pillow of hot air. The wind bore them up into the night and Star turned her head to look at Rohanna. "I suppose we should go back and thank them?"
"Yeah. This air will be here a while longer, we can catch it again unless a breeze springs up. Which it won't."
Star nodded and turned her nose back into the wind. The pair banked on the cushion of air and flapped a few times, soaring off it towards the bright ring of fire below.

'Oh,' replied Lily, 'Thanks for telling us. I'm Lily by the way, and this is Sirik, my pet wolf and my best friend. You are...?'

[Poohbomber]

"I have no name," started Nomad looking briefly upward, barely noticeable in his hood, "But the people that I have been around have called me Nomad, as I rarely stay in the same place." Renaldo then grunted, "I am Renaldo, his friend and partner. And can you tell Sirik to be quiet?"

[RohannaFalcon]

Star landed smoothly, leaping and trotting to a slow walk. She shook her head and flicked her ears as she ambled over to the small knot of people and Rohanna flicked her cloak as it draped over her. The light of the fire was hurting her eye and she closed it, then thought better of that and pulled her hood up. The deep shadows of the cowl hid her unusual eye from prying glances, and shaded it from the firelight. Now people could only see her normal right eye.
When they reached the people. Rohanna slipped off Star's back as the dragon shuffled her wings back into place. She stepped forwards and looked towards the two figures that had saved them from the dragon.
"Thank you." She said formally. "Without your help, we would have been hurt." Rohanna made a deep bow, making sure her cowl stayed up.
Turning towards the others, Star lowered her head until it was level with the human girl's head. "And you are?" She said, her soft, lilting voice curious.
"Star!" Rohanna said sharply, looking over at the dragon. Star ignored her and pulled her head back before shuffling her wings again and bending her head to nip at the feathers in embarrassment. Rohanna threw the girl an apologetic glance.

"It was my pleasure," said Nomad. "Who are you?" he also asked. Noting the dragon as well as the weird way she bowed. He gestured to Renaldo as well and they both went over to a rock and Nomad sat down.

[RohannaFalcon]

Rohanna watched the figures curiously. "I am Rohanna Falcon. This is Stardancer, my friend and associate. And this..." She trailed off, glancing around. "Now, where is he?... ah."
There was an awkward moment of silence, and then something fluttered down out of the night sky to land on Rohanna's shoulder. She gave the bird a look and said, "As I was saying, this is Shadow Striker, my falcon." Rohanna stroked the small bird's head with a finger and reached into her cloak. She pulled out a small hood made of some kind of leathery material and slipped it over the bird's head, tying it underneath the fearsome beak.
Star nodded in greeting to them. "Rohanna's very proud of her bird." She said, shaking her head. "She raised him from a chick, blah blah blah."
Rohanna looked up at the dragon irately. "Hush, you." she murmured, transferring the falcon to her other shoulder.

Nomad nodded, although he looking at the dragon more than he was listening. "I have never seen a dragon with the wings of a bird," he said, "It really does look beautiful in this world of dirt, blood, and fire." Renaldo rolled his eyes and sighed. He got up and walked closer to the fire. The light sparkling in his reptilian eyes. Nomad turned his cowled head towards Renaldo and shook it. And then he remembered something. "Sorry, forgot myself, Renaldo's kind does not show much of manners," Renaldo chuckled as Nomad said this, "and thus I have forgotten mine." "My name, at least what some would call a name, is Nomad, and this is my associate, Renaldo," he said as he waved his hand towards him.

Alaya walked closer to the figures, and bravely decided to speak out.
"Umm, hello, err, what's going on?"
"Help, help," whispered Rolo, barely able to speak.

'Sirik, be quiet!' Lily scolded. She looked around at the group that had formed. Wow, She thought, There are a lot of us here now! It's like fate or something brought us all together. She turned slightly, and noticed a smaller girl, cradling something in her arms 'Hello,' She said, 'What's your na-' She trailed off when the girl drew close enough that her bundle was visible. In her arms was a small, bloodstained, furry creature, whimpering in pain.
'Oh dear...' Said Lily.

[Poohbomber]

Nomad looked up at the girl, then the dragon, then asked, "What happened to it?" He slowly got up and walked over to her, his tall figure looming over the small girl. Before waiting for a response he looked over the dragon and noticed that it had been attacked by something. He put his pack down on the ground, rummaged around in it, and took out a small vial. "Spread this on it's wound and bandage it. It should be fine afterward. Just make sure to take off the bandages by noon tomorrow," he said handing over the potion.

'Wow, so you're good with medicine, huh?' Lily said, amazed.
Sirik jumped up and licked the dragon.
'Sirik!' Lily laughed. She turned to the smaller girl. 'I'm Lily and this is Sirik. Something's been going on here, but I haven't yet figured out what... So what's your name?'

"Thank you. We were being chased by a huge hairy beast and he couldn't get away in time to avoid a nasty bite." Replied Alaya, rubbing the potion onto Rolo's wing.
"Oh, by the way, my name's Alaya and this is Rolo. I know your names, I overheard you talking."

[Poohbomber]

"I myself am not good with medicine," Nomad started, "it is merely a potion cooked up by a very reputable alchemist from the town that we came from recently, and, my good friend." Renaldo jumped up and growled at Alalya, "It is not nice to spy on people." Nomad looked at Renaldo and said, "Calm down Ren, she was probably curious, no harm done." He walked over to a patch of grass, sighed, and then he lay down on the grass and said, "But I am tired of talking right now." He took out a book from one of his cloaks inner pockets and started to read, using his pack as a pillow. Then he remembered their predicament. "Put that fire out, the dragon may still be around, and an open campfire will give us away," he said quickly. "This alcove should be good enough protection from it's eyes otherwise."

[RohannaFalcon]

Star blinked. "Thank you," she murmured softly to Nomad. Rohanna was distracted by Alaya's claim to be chased by a 'huge hairy beast.' "Alaya," Rohanna started, "what did this beast look like?"
Star was not paying attention.

[Poohbomber]

Nomad nodded slightly as Star thanked him, then he was back into his book.

[RohannaFalcon]

Star looked over at Rohanna. "Rohanna... now what?"
Distracted by Star's question, Rohanna glanced over at the dragon. "Ummm...." She paused, really having no idea what she was supposed to do next. "How about.... well, we weren't really trying to go anywhere, but I guess we could head off this mountain at least..." She immediately straightened up and regained her composure. "I, for one, don't fancy being attacked by that dragon again."
Star murmured her agreement. "Hop on!" She said, and Rohanna strode over to her and hoisted herself up onto Star's back.

[Poohbomber]

"I guess that means that it is time for us to leave as well," said Nomad as he stood up stretching. "The nearest town to here is Bellvue, down in the valley, about a half an hour away," he continued as he was putting his book away. "I don't know about you, but I would head there as soon as you can, as I assume that dragon won't be too happy about Renaldo and I hurting it, and I don't think anyone in this mountain is safe," he finished, beckoning to Renaldo. "Not to mention that it is quite mean anyway," Renaldo grunted as they both started to leave, Nomad's cloak billowing as they entered the mountain air.

[RohannaFalcon]

Rohanna nodded her head. "I agree. It would be best for all of us to vacate the mountain and leave the dragon to its raging... although, if it is furious enough, it may attack one of the nearby villages. The leftovers from the old civilization..." She sighed. "It is amazing that people have managed to build villages in the ruins of Earth."
Star shuffled, unbalancing Rohanna and bringing her thoughts back to reality. Shadow Striker knew what was coming and hopped of Rohanna's shoulder to settle on a single leather band that encircled the base of Star's neck. He dug his claws in and hunkered down. Rohanna grabbed the band herself as Star turned and ran for the edge. She leaped off again and caught the last of the thermal as it rose, and Star turned to Rohanna as the the pair floated up on the wind. "Where to?" She said, as the air whipped past her face.
Rohanna pushed her cowl down and let the wind tangle her hair. She reached up and tied it back, then surveyed the night landscape. "Mmm... the coast. We haven't been there in ages." She said. They had come from a swampy inland forest to the mountain, so the coast might be a nice change of scenery. Star nodded and turned her nose back into the wind. Rohanna held tight to the leather band as they streaked through the dark, dark night towards the sea.

"I figured they wouldn't give us a ride," said Renaldo. "Why would they?" Replied Nomad. And then they were off.

(LOL Star couldn't carry them all anyways!)
Hours passed in silence, with only the sound of the rushing wind and the stars to keep Rohanna and Star company. Finally, just as the sun began to lighten the sky, Star spotted the dark outline of the coast in the morning light. She angled downwards and settled in a glade not far from a remote fishing village. Rohanna scouted out a small dip in the ground near the roots of an upturned tree and Star curled up there. The big dragon was soon fast asleep and Rohanna lay against her warm side, under cover of her feathery wing. Soon they were both asleep.

Nomad and Renaldo were just getting out of the mountain range when the sun came out. "I didn't know that we were in there for that long," Nomad said. Renaldo nodded and they kept on trekking. "Where should we go now?" asked Renaldo. "Let's head towards our hideout," replied Nomad. And with that they headed off towards a ordinary mountain nearby.

"GAH!" yelled Fate as she lade down in a patch of clovers. "Moni there's nothing to do!" complained Fate looking at the creature napping on her stomach. " Do sleep I am bored" she says poking the rabbit like creatures head. " But you kept me up all night." says Moni. " Fine sleep. I don't care." Fate lays her head down and watches the clouds go by. As butterflies fly over head. Then before she knew it she was out. " COLD!" Fate yells waking up. Moni fell off since he was still half asleep. " Hey what was the?" says moni mad to woken up. "sorry, I got really cold and for reason I shouted. but anyway we need to be heading out. I heard some travelers talking about a city near by. should we head there?" Moni scratches his ear while standing on his legs. then yawned. "Sure we have nothing better to do." "Great!" says Fate standing up fast. " I hear they have a great candy store" Moni rolls his eyes then gets yanked up to fate shoulder. "Here we go!" Fate yelled running off.

Once they arrived Nomad said, "I think we'll rest for a week before moving on (in real time)." "I think so too," replied Renaldo.
(I am going on a week long camping trip. It would be nice if you guys didn't move the actual RP plot too far ahead of me.)

Rox stretched. Morning light shone through from the opening of her cave. The familiar sound of water plopping on to the cold cave floor echoed. Rox grabbed a pale filled with strange, transparent fish. She walked to the front of the cave and whistled.
The head of a horse popped up above the water, and the dark blue tail of a fish raised itself. The hippocampi named Tallula whinnied, excited for it's breakfast.
Rox dumped the dead fish in to the water, and Tallula happily ate them up. She played a game, trying to get the fish before they hit the bottom of the mini sea that she lived in.
Her master smiled and went back in to the cave. She set the pale down, then changed in to an old, ripped swimsuit – a gift from long ago that barely fit anymore. She was sad to know that she'd have to get rid of it soon.
Rox dived in to the water and swam along the banks.
Those stupid transparent fish! Curse them for being so hard to -OW!

[Lobsession04]

"ALRIGHT!" yells Fate. "Moni! Moni! I caught A gigantic fish!" FAte spun around her dress blowing in the wind. She yanks up the poorly made fishing pole. " How the Hell?" Moni says, wondering how fate of all people could catch something with a stick, grass and a rock shaped hook. Moni looks down at the river " Um, Fate you might wanna look again." Fate peers over he ledge then smiled. " Biggest! Fish! Ever!"

A hook! An extremely sharp hook had grabbed on to the back of her swimsuit, taking some skin with it. She was pulled up and over the water, much to her disbelief. She spat out water and turned to unhook herself. She failed, however, for she had been flung on the land. Something removed the hook.
She jumped up and pulled the dagger from its sheath on her belt.
Her jaw practically dropped at the sight of the "fisher".
It was a small girl, equipped with an amatuer fishing pole. She was clothed in a blue dress, and a strange looking rabbit sat on her shoulder.
"Who...are...you?" Rox said between breaths.

[Lobsession04]

"GAH! A talking Fish!" Fate fell back. "We're all gonna di-..." Fate looked again. staring at the super tall girl who looked to be about her age. Fate then put her face right up to hers. "GAH! Fish lady!" Fate ran in circles. the rabbit like creature went up to the girl and " Sorry for my partners actions." "FATE!" yelled Moni. Fate was on the ground dizzy. "Huh?" "get up would you?" Fate sat up quick as if nothing was wrong. "Okay." she walked back over and smiled and Said " Hi, I'm Fate and this is my pal Moni. Nice to meet you fish lady."

Rox cocked her head in confusion.
"Um, hi. I'm Rox, and I'm not a fish." She replied.
Strange girl... She thought. Rox shook her head a little.
"Do you normally fish for people?"

[Lobsession04]

"No? Not normally. it's just..." Fates stomach growls T-T " I just spent all my money on candy." She falls Backwards. "And I'm bored" she then sighs. " oh, sorry for the cut." Fate walks around to the cut the wipes her finger across it and it's gone. " All better! moni!" Moni jumps on her shoulder. " Bye Bye fish lady!" she runs off bare footed acting like a plane.

"Wait!" Rox called. She looked behind her. The cut was really gone. The slight sting of pain was gone as well. She called Tallula (pronounced: tal-l-ou-la).
"Tal! Itu!" She yelled. Tal lifted her back. Rox jumped on.
"Neyah! Follow her." Rox commanded. The hippocampus started swimming.

[Lobsession04]

With her tongue partly out Fate was running. Fast. "Moni! is the town close?" "yeah should take you about 5 minutes." "Aw! But I have to be there in 3 minutes, Gah!" She ran faster." Fate, she's following you." Fate turns her head a bit noticing her on some horse thing. "It's fine. I don't mind." A town slowly came up.

Rox and Tallula stopped at a dock to a town. Rox saw Fate running in to it.
"Dooga, Tal." She said. She dove, grabbed some seaweed, and fed it to Tal. Then she climbed out of the water and shook herself dry. She put her hair up, and then she walked in to the town.

Fate entered what looked like a Cafe. Then soon came out in what looked like... a frog suit. Handing out flyers for what seemed the Cafe.

Rox ignored the stares of the townspeople who were confused to see a wet, half-naked girl walking through the streets.
Out of the corner of her eye, Rox saw a big green...frog? She turned and, sure enough, Fate was in a giant frog costume...lord knows why.
Rox approached her and grabbed her arm, turning her.

"Owy! Huh? oh, it's you fish lady." Fate blinks a few times then looks at Rox. "Um would you like something different to wear?"

"Uh...," Rox suddenly shivered, "sure." She said.

[Lobsession04]

Fate smiles and poles her into the store. " I'm taking a break she yells." an older peers from a door. " you started working." " I don't mind." she replied. Fate took Rox to a room that said employs only. "I promise it's not a animal suit. Here!" she shoved Rox into a changing room then through a t-shirt and shorts over the door. "They should fit." Yelled Moni. " I made everything to your measurements."

"Thanks, uh, Moni?" She called back, estranged by the little talking creature. Rox found Moni to be a more sophisticated version of Fate.
Rox put on the tight black shirt and jean shorts, cut at mid-thigh. She bundled up her swimsuit and stuffed it in her pocket.
She opened the door and walked out.
"So, you work here? As a...frog?"

Fate Giggles. " Well My boss says that Nothing gets more attention then a short girl in a animal suit. and I needed money so. Here we are. Plus haven't you seen the candy store here!" Fate starts staring of in the distance drooling" Moni looks up. " So what's the reason you followed us?"

"Well, you sort of healed my cut and left. So...what the heck's up with that?!" Rox asked. "I mean, that's like, super weird...no offense, of course. But still it's...um...disturbing?"

[Lobsession04]

"ah, that. I still am not aware of Fates powers myself. But she certainly has amazing gifts." Fate is sitting there playing around with her cheeks letting Moni talk. " Believe it or not Fate has another side to her. You don't see it much. but it's there." Moni looks at Fate. " Oh, and we take no offense to being um. "weird"" "RAWR!" yells Fate now in a monster costume. I got to get back to work. you staying here Moni?" "depends on what Rox wants." Moni said looking at Rox.

Rohanna woke as the morning light sent watery beams weakly through the trees. She considered getting something to eat, but remembered that her game bow had been destroyed last night in the fire. And, anyways, there was one of the post-apocalyptic towns nearby.
"Star." Rohanna said, clasping her cloak around her neck. There was no response, and Rohanna whirled about. "Star!"
"Hummm?" Star murmured groggily, raising her head from under her wing.
"I am going into the small village nearby." Rohanna stated, checking her knife sheaths and making sure her daggers were in place. "I will eat there. I doubt they have anything fit for you to eat, however, so it would do well if you could find yourself something to eat. I shall return soon."
"Right." Star said, then stood, shook herself, and yawned hugely. Rohanna left as Star stretched in a catlike pose and wandered off among the trees.
Reaching the town gates, the sentries on guard (little more than farmers with pitchforks) gave her an odd glance, but she proceeded straight into the village without giving them so much as a glance.
Rohanna smirked as she passed them- they wouldn't have questioned her, anyways. Any fool could see they had both just woken up, and had been sleeping on the night watch. She turned her attention ahead just in time to see a small girl dressed as a frog steer another girl, this one very tall, wet, and shivering, into a cafe. Rohanna followed the unlikely pair into the cafe and waited patiently as they disappeared into a back room.

((Remember all, this is post-apocalyptic, so no electricity at all. Or advanced weapons like guns, and a lot of stuff like metal is mostly scrounged so buildings are going to be a little rickety and odd-looking. ))

"It's fine, Moni. You go with Fate. I'm gonna head back out see what they have here." Rox said. She followed Fate back in to the main room. A cloaked girl caught her eye.
"She's...peculiar." Rox thought aloud.

Obliveously Fate went right up to the cloaked girl in her new Monster suit. "RAWRZ! haz a flyer!" Fate shoves a flyer to her and runs outside, then in the Back ground you hear " AlRight! For the candy!" (No one notices but Moni is still inside.)

[RohannaFalcon]

Rohanna watched with interest as the frog girl and the other reappeared from the back of the cafe. The second girl was now wearing something different. Rohanna peered more closely at her, but she seemed not to notice, busy talking to something that looked like a rather large rabbit. Suddenly, she put her head up swiftly and nearly met Rohanna's eyes. Rohanna backpedaled and looked away, but heard the girl say, "She's.... peculiar."
Rohanna blinked, and her eyes widened. Abruptly she shook her head- what was she thinking? Why should this girl be any different from the rest of everyone else in this town?
But.... that strange sensation....
Rohanna shook her head again, angry now. She shouldn't go trusting strange tingly feelings in her mind, they didn't amount to anything.
Except that last time this had happened was when she had been standing with Nomad and Renaldo and the rest of them last night, who had seemed strange as well....
Rohanna turned and pushed her way out of the door of the cafe and began to stride down the road. She really, really hoped the girl wouldn't follow her, because she was going back to Star.
Well, maybe after some food first, Rohanna thought as a brightly colored stall caught her eye. She veered off her course and walked up to the stall, quickly purchasing a small pie-like object that was filled with eggs and cheese. Rohanna took her purchase and continued back towards the gate.

Moni gets a weird feeling of this girl in the cloak. He manages to get on the roofs to follow her. she bought one of the chain pies pie and then headed to the Gates. Moni climbs down to fate and whispers." can you get off early?" "the girl with the cloak right?" Moni nodes. Fate quickly changes and head quietly to the gate.

Rox finishes a strange drink. She notices Fate and Moni following...that strange girl!
Something inside Rox makes her stand and rush after them.

Rohanna kept going along the street, but suddenly she felt the tingle again. She threw up her cowl and glanced back-yes, it was that girl. The frog suit girl. She was following Rohanna!... but why?
Rohanna deemed this would be a bad time and place to attempt to lose the girl in the streets because she didn't know her way around the place herself. Not that there was much to get lost in, really.
As she was walking, she suddenly passed an extremely large and eye-catching place. It was brightly colored and advertising a new and expensive type of candy that promised you hours of happiness and apparently it caused you to levitate. Rohanna raised one eyebrow at the candy shop and an idea sprang into her head. She checked the price on the candy and, as she walked by the place, reached into her purse and closed her fingers on a few odd coins. Checking it, it was just enough to purchase the candy, and Rohanna opened her fingers and let the coins fall to the ground. They were right in the girl's path. If she took a few more steps, she would find them and by her look she was the sort who would be ensnared by a candy store like this.

Fates Eyes get big. "WHAT LUCK!" she picks up the money the looked at the candy store *.* " YEAH!!!!" she ran straight to it like a little kid. but Moni jumped off her shoulder and was able to stand in front of the cloak girl. "That was a dirty trick" Moni said.

Rox watched, stupefied, as Fate picked up the money the girl had dropped and ran in to the candy store. She shook her head. Wow. She thought.
She then considered whether to go and get her or not. She decided against it, and instead continued following the girl.

Rohanna smirked, but stopped as the rabbit leaped into her path. "That was a dirty trick!" It yelled at her. How, Rohanna was not sure.
She sidestepped the rabbit and said, "Well, perhaps it was not wise to follow me then. I don't appreciate others interfering with my business." The cowl hid her face in shadows, and she walked past the prone rabbit. "If you don't mind, I'll be going."
She was out the gate before Fate was out of the candy shop. Now that she was outside the town, Rohanna cut to the left off the 'road' and into the forest. If there was anyone tailing her right now, she would lose them!
She cut through the forest several times to lose the rabbit and once she was sure the rabbit wasn't following her, she went back out onto the road and resumed her course for Star.
((However, she only checked for rabbits. Always read my posts carefully for loopholes! Rox is still following her, she did not lose Rox!))

Moni sighed. " And if you would listen, FAte isn't out to get you." said Moni knowing no one was listening. FAte comes out mouth totally full, plus candy in bag. Mouth still full "hey where did that girl go?" Moni returned to her shoulder. " When you gave her that flyer you didn't happen to?-..." "Oh I did. I'm not that stupid" says Fate with a strand of hair pinched between her fingers. Fate smirked.

The girl tried to through Rox off, but she was too good at blending in to the forest. Rox watched as the girl checked the area, presumably for that rabbit. Rox grinned. She pushed off the tree she was on, and then jammed her dagger in to the closet tree. She swung from the dagger, which was able to hold her body weight. She set her feet down on a branch and pulled the dagger out of the trunk. Then she jumped again.

Rohanna glanced down at the flyer that was, somehow, still in her hand. "Huhmm." She said, and walked back to the path. She placed the flyer squarely in the center of the path and continued on her way.
Star was waiting for her. "You're late." she remarked, preening her wing.
"There wasn't a set time, and I had to shake a follower."
"Oh? Well, it didn't work." Star said flatly.
Rohanna spun around to see-

Rox already had out her dagger, just to be sure, and stood in an offensive position.
"Don't move." She commanded.

"Up and ready, Star!" Rohanna said, her eyes glinting from the shadows of her cowl.
Star abruptly stood and put her wings out to look more threatening, and a fully grown angry female dragon does in fact look very very threatening. Rohanna calmly pulled out her large fighting dirk and stood, the wind swirling her cloak around her. With her cowl up she looked a lot older than she actually was.

"hm, well theres no point in confronting both at once." Fate said then yawned." Plus it's time for our nap." Said Moni. Fate smiled and started running past the Gates but not to the woods, to a field. They soon found a patch of clovers, and were soon asleep.
(It seemed for someone else's turn but I got bored.)

"What part of 'don't move' don't you understand?" Rox asked. She whistled. In only a matter of seconds a large, majestic horse appeared. The horse scraped the ground with it's right hoof, simultaneously letting a large breath out from her nostrils.
"Dude, dragons are so...last millenia? Hippocampi are the in magical creatures."

Rohanna sighed. "Actually, humans didn't know dragons existed last millenia." With a sigh, Rohanna placed her palm on the flat of her blade. "And I don't take orders from minors." She looked over the blue tinted blade and her eyes sparkled in the shadows of her hood. She blinked. If she put her cowl down, hopefully her eyes would be disconcerting enough to prevent the girl from attacking her.
(( Eh, they powers sure, but I really hope we don't plan on fighting. And about the eye thing it's when people talk to her, they know something's wrong with her, but they just can't place what, and it's really disturbing! hahahaha
Actually, I was wondering how you would be able to travel over land with a creature that can only swim, looks like you solved that problem in your own way! Thanks.))
"Also, I don't want to fight you. You look fun." Rohanna kept her eyes on the girl as Star looked at the hippocampus/horse.
"Neat." Star said, her voice rumbly with a hint of a growl. "Where'd you find her? Usually magical creatures like hippocampi and dragons-" At this she tossed her head- "don't usually just come up to humans and ask to accompany them everywhere. So, what's the story there?" She suddenly leaned forwards and looked directly into the horse's eyes, about a foot away. "Hi there. Who are you?"

Tallula breathed through her nose.
"Tallula. Means: leaping water. She doesn't talk. Her voice was damaged. In fact, I found her, half-dead. She decided to stay with me after I nursed her back to health. Most likely because of the fish." Rox replied. Rox stroked Tallula's mane, and she dipped her head down, calm now. Rox glared at Rohanna.
"I'm not a minor. I'm fifteen. And a half. The age changed." Rox flipped her knife, caught it, and then put it back in to her sheath ((She'll be doing that a lot, it's a final fantasy side effect)). Rox stuck her hand out in a motion as fluid as water. Everything Rox did was like water. She practically was water.
"I'm Aroxania Arethusa Rensu. And/or Rox." She said.

"Oh!" Star said, surprised. She withdrew her head and sighed. "I'm sorry, that's unfortunate. I'm Stardancer."
"It's nice to meet you, Rox." Rohanna said, sheathing her dirk. She began speaking as she put down her hood. "I'm Rohanna Falcon. This is Stardancer, my companion. I met her because she was attacked by a dragon for trespassing on it's territory, and I helped to heal her. Yes, I know," She said tiredly, catching Rox's glance, "I look a lot older with the hood up. I'm actually fifteen and a bit right now."
Star snorted and put her wings back in. "So! Tallula, is it? Can she speak mind to mind?" Rohanna gave Star a strange look and Star looked at everyone. "What? Neither can I!" She snapped, taking a few steps off to the side and abruptly sitting down.
Rohanna sighed. "Right then. I have absolutely no idea why you asked that, since mind-speech is impossible."
Star rolled her eyes and Rohanna tightened the grip on her dirk handle. "Some day I'm going to..... going to..... cut your wing feathers! Only on one side though, and not all the way, so you can still fly but you'll be lopsided. That's more embarassing than being grounded." Rohanna spread her hands and stepped towards Rox. "So, yeah. Nice to meet you." She said.

"You too?" Rox said, wondering if people with talking pets often had side conversations while talking to someone else.
Tallula whinnied, sounding as if she was uncomfortable.
Rox stroked her mane again. Tallula pushed her head in to her hands.
"Mhm." Rox said, nodding her head. She mounted Tallula. Rox looked like a goddess of water, with her long flowing hair and her beautiful ocean eyes. Tallula's slightly bluish sea green skin and transperant watery hair made her fit in perfectly with Rox.
"Could we take this conversation to a field somewhere? Tallula's horse form requires much energy, and she needs to eat some flowers." Rox said. She grabbed on to Tallula's mane and she turned, facing the way that they'd come.
Rox looked back.
"Coming?"

"She needs to eat some flowers?" Star said, standing and yawning. "What kind of excuse is that? 'Let's not have this battle, my horse needs to eat some flowers!'" She snorted.
Rohanna smiled forcefully, gritting her teeth and giving Star an evil look. "Suuuuurrreeee..." She said slowly, drawing the word out. "Let's go!" As the group turned and walked back towards the path, Rohanna rounded on Star. "Don't be rude!"
The wind whipped Rohanna's hair into a strange halo around her head and her strange stormy eyes with odd pupils held the sky in their depths. Rohanna's cloak flapped in the sudden breeze, and Star arched her neck and ruffled up her wings a bit. A ray of weak sunshine penetrated the trees and shone on the two for a moment, then they moved on and out of the light.
Rohanna spotted the flyer she had left on the path earlier- nothing had come and picked it up. She stooped down and grabbed it again, then thrust it inside her cloak. "Maybe I'll need to use it to start a fire sometime," She mused to herself, then laughed. "No, silly me. I have a dragon."

They soon arrived at a field filled with flowers, grass, and clovers...

Fate opened her eyes and sat up fast. she put her hand over her forehead and said "another nightmare?" she shook her head, Moni looked up worriedly. "HEY! OVER THERE!" Fate pointed across the field. " It's Fish lady!" Moni got on her shoulder, and Fate ran to her the stopped. the cloaked girl was with her. "Ow" fate grabbed her head. Moni looked up"Fate..." "um we should head back to town. it's not like we don't know where hey are. Fate smirked then started running.

"Dooga, Tallula. Uchino qeta newdey, deeya?" Tallula nodded. Rox pet her once, then turned to Rohanna.
"You wanna chase after her?" She asked her newest companion.

( :D ) Fate was breathing hard after running so fast, the turned her head. *__* It was the candy store. "if only..." Fate rested her head against the glass window. (they have windows right? da 04 course they do.) fate swallowed knowing that the job she was at still wouldn't get her enough for a small house. Fate sighed and sat on the bench near the store.

Rohanna glanced down at the flyer. Obviously it was some sort of Old-Age tracking device somehow. She sighed and gave the paper to Star to eat. "Sure, why not? It's not like I have anything else to do right now." She said nonchalantly. Inwardly, she smiled- she was warming to Rox quite quickly. This girl's personality was a perfect counterpart to her own.

Inland, in the Bright Forest.
A long distance away, the sun fell in dappled rays through the still forest. Huge trees stretched their limbs into the sky and created patterns of light and shadow that danced on the forest floor. The fallen leaves of last autumn blanketed the forest floor, muffling the footsteps of the dragon.
The dragon was small for a fully-grown adult dragon, and her wings were pure white, odd for a dragon. Her body was smooth golden scales mixed with white and gray.
She opened her eyes, which were a soft blue color. The dragon walked for some time through the forest, until she reached a strange dwelling made from a sparkly white stone. The halls were huge- large enough for even large dragons to pass through.
The small dragon made her way purposefully through the hallways until she found what she was looking for- a large carved wooden door. Half of the door was metal inlays of iron, so fire would leave a strong iron gate- there were bars in the wood. The little dragon leaned down and breathed a strange mist into an ornate golden keyhole, then raised her head and stepped back. A beat passed before the door swung silently open and the dragon entered, the tassle on her tail slipping past the door as it closed.
The room was circular, with small halls leading off it to other rooms. The dragon stopped all around the room to check on various things in small alcoves.
Finally, the dragon turned and walked down one of the hallways. She entered another circular room, this one barely large enough for her to stand with plenty of space in. She nosed the main doors and pushed up a small pin with her nose. The carved stone doors swung outwards and a ray of golden sunlight falling through the stained-glass window above lit on a sword lying on red velvet.
It was a long blade, made of a pinkish stone rather than of metal. The handle was darker pink metal, with a worn leather grip. Set in the pommel of the sword was a large red gemstone.
"Aahhh...." Sighed the dragon. She looked fondly upon the sword again, then looked up, into the light. "You and your bearer grow closer together. It will not be long before she comes to claim you." The dragon smiled, her eyes resting kindly on the sword. "Be gentle at first, your bearer is... fragile." She chuckled, then nosed the doors shut and replaced the pin. Turning, the small dragon walked out of the room, then left the weapons area and returned to the forest.

It's Rox's native tongue. She was found knowing how to speak the language. She taught it to Tallula so that it wouldn't die out. :) I'm kewl!))
Rox, Rohanna, and Star traveled back in to town. It didn't take them long to find Fate in front of the candy store.
"Shocker." Rox said as they approached. She looked down at Fate.
"You gonna run away again, ya little munchkin?" Rox asked.

Fate blinked a few times. "Fish lady?" she said in a much calmer voice. "ow, my head.." Fate turned to see Rohanna. she sighed. The opened her eyes fast. "WHO ARE CALLING SMALL!!!!" fate stood up and trashed her arms around. Then rolled into a ball. "it's not my fault T-T"

Rohanna watched this odd display of Fate's mind with interest. This girl made her mind tingle as well... no, what was she thinking?!
Rohanna shook her head. Star was waiting outside the town- a dragon would probably scare people, so Tallula was the only non-human here. And Moni.... where was Moni?
She twisted around and searched the store and the surrounding area for Moni, but the small, rabbitlike creature was nowhere to be seen.
"However, I must agree with your statement." Rohanna said to Rox. "It would be typical to find this girl in a candy store. Oh, well."

"Very, true, she's an addict. Speaking of her." Rox said, turning to Fate. "One, I am not a fish. Two, I said munchkin, not small. No, it may not be your fault, but I can still point it out."
Rox noticed Rohanna searching the area.
"Hey, where's Moni?"

"No idea." Rohanna said quickly, turning towards the door. "But it can't be good. That little critter is probably off doing something evil... I wonder what happened to that flyer? I don't think Star actually ate it... did she?"

Off in the woods a way, Star sighed and glanced around, then spotted the flyer lying on the ground. "Oh?" She said, and vaguely recalled Rohanna handing her the flyer and saying, "Here. Eat this." before running off with that new character Rox to chase down some sort of mini-human.
Star peered at the paper, then sneezed and incinerated it accidentally. Oh well.

"Hm?" said Fate. "I'm pretty sure he um said he was um doing something but i didn't hear what. because um you see..." Fate peers into the window to a sign that said New candy. :L "So Fish Lady where you been? and whos this?" Fate quickly appears in front of Rohanna.

"Excuse me, Fate, I-" Rohanna stopped suddenly in the middle of her sentence.
Down the alleyway, she could make out the shadowy forms of a few people... or really? Were they actually people? She peered closer and suddenly threw her cowl up, then put her hands into her cloak for her knives.
Not good. Not good not good not good! Rohanna backed up until she was next to Rox. "Rox.... what are those?" She asked calmly, her eyes hidden by the shadows.

"Not.A.Fish. This, little one, is Rohanna. I was sta - following her, since you gave up. There was an...interaction, then we went to the meadow and now here we are." Rox said, gesturing to Rohanna, and then to the town around them.
Rohanna asked Rox something.
"What are what?" Rox asked. She turned to see what Rohanna was looking at. "Oh. Well, that's bad." Rox said.

"Thanks for not answering my question." Rohanna growled. The figures moved, and Rohanna glanced around to see that the street was suddenly deserted. "Huh boy."

Fate stearnly looks in the ally. "Hey guys i'ma Look for Moni!" She headed straight for the woods as if she already knew where he was.

Fate turned around then smiled. " until I get my wish!" she yelled then kept running.

"What is it?" She asked.

Fate had a stern look on her face as she ran through the woods. Her feet bleeding from not wearing shoes through the woods. "MONI!" Fate yelled. "where is he" she mumbled.

The Norwegian Cliffs cave system

The waves crashed up against the sinister black rock cliffs. Gulls screeched and dove at strange things that clung to the rocks, or floated in tidal pools. And the gaping mouth of a cave opened up in the side of one of the darker cliffs.
The deep water right before the cliff swirled, and then something huge reared up and peered into the cave. A moment passed, and then it put it's head down and sort of jumped out of the water, into the water inside the cave. Once its head and enough of its body was in, the rest of it followed rather quickly.
The thing looked rather like a huge snake of sorts, but with fins in odd places and evil-looking red eyes. It's head was broad with huge stiff greenish fins on the sides, and the mouth opened to reveal sharp white-yellow teeth and an embarrassing pink tongue.
It slithered through the water and over onto a strange rocky island, then coiled up into grooves that had been worn there over time. It settled with a relaxed hiss, closing its eyes.
What it was guarding was what could have passed for a dragon's hoard, except that dragons were much neater than this and usually organized everything precisely as they wanted it. Jewels, jewelry, gold, even shiny things like tinfoil and scrap metal were piled all over each other. Much of it was rusty from water, but about three-quarters of the way up there was something more interesting poking out of the pile.
A large sword lay embedded withing a chunk of wood. It was long, and the blade appeared to be made of silver ceramic. The handle was made of a dark green metal, encrusted with a few green gems.
A huge emerald was embedded in the pommel, and the rain guard glittered with tiny gems. On the tip of the blade there was a silver cover made from actual silver, sharpened to a deadly point- and it would never go dull.
The serpent surrounding the pile opened one eye-slit as a young, unsuspecting gull fluttered into the cavern, foraging for food. It flapped noisily over to the treasure-pile and strutted about for a moment, then pecked at something shiny.
There was a blur near the serpent's head, and the gull was gone. The serpent shifted it's coils and burped out a few feathers, which floated on the breeze that blew an ill wind down the coast.

Rohanna pointed out the shadow figures and the deserted street. "Now, I don't come to the coast often. Have you any idea what this means?"

"I suspect that people who are very, very feared are here now. The townspeople must have hidden away." Rox replied.

"No. Really. The street is deserted." Rohanna gritted her teeth. "We'd better be going right Rox yes." Rohanna started off abruptly, hissing, "Come onnnn!!"

(( Eh, ya, sure. I have to do everyone's, but no finding swords yet! We still have a ways to go. I have to do everyones! Not just ours, that was Sword of Earth, if you can guess. I was going to put yours there but decided to switch things around a bit.))

"Huh? Wha - oh! Right! Yeper, got to go..heh heh." Rox said nervously, trying not to look back behind her.

Fate kept running then tripped. " I told him not to go to far...."
Fate sighed. "I'm just over reacting. I should go back to the others. even if that one gives me a head ache." She sits up and starts walking out, then she felt something... something different then she's ever felt. She looked around but didn't see anything, if only Moni was here. She made it back to town making sure that the 2 couldn't see her.

(( BeCAUSE you demanded it... More mysterious powers! Yay!))

All was not well in the Mountain of Shadows. The tunnel creatures there, the goblins, were angry. Their time had come- they humans should have been wiped off the planet in the apocalypse, when the mythical creatures had been awakened. Now they were planning an attack on the villages nearby, such as the one at the foot of the mountain.
They had taken much plunder from the people, but some of it had been discovered deep within the caves. Some of it, such as swords and daggers, was normal. Other bits, like darts with poison that stopped your heart or rings that shot lightning, were magical.
Their King was uneasy. A team of goblins had unearthed something strange- a sword, buried in the stone. They had dug it out and brought it to him. It burned their hands to touch, and the King didn't like the feel of it either.
it was extremely long with engraved designs, ever-so-slightly curved. The hilt was extremely ornate and complicated, a network of gold and silver designs. The grip was well-wrapped in leather and the pommel was a pigeon's-egg sized diamond, glittering in the light of the fires lit in the King's hall.
He reached out and took the sword- then dropped it, howling in pain. Fire ran along it's length, dripping across the leather like a sticky sap and burning the King's knobbly hand. He kicked it away from his throne and howled, "Destroy it at once!"
Immediately the goblins threw it onto the nearest fire. It sat there in the heat, and the goblins thought it would melt- their fires were the hottest. Eventually, they threw more wood on top, and the sword was buried under ashes and dust and forgotten by all- even the King. But still, in the fire, the sword was there...

Alaya looked across the mountains, trying to locate a good spot to hunt for food, eventually settling on a forest in the valley. She called to Rolo who asked, "Where are we going?"
"To that forest in the valley," Replied Alaya, pointing straight down the mountain.
"I'll get our bags," said Rolo, reaching for a sack.
They began to run down the mountain, into the forest.

Lily sprinted back up the mountain and grabbed her bow and quiver, which she had accidentally left in the cave. Then she ran back to the clearing where they had all met. She was disappointed that, at the first time for years, she had met more people, and they had immediately dispersed.
She looked around, and saw the smaller girl running down towards the valley.
"Hey! Hey!" Lily shouted, struggling to remember the girl's name. "Umm... Alaya!?"

Alaya skidded to a halt, pulling Rolo's tail and dragging him back.
"What do you want?" called Alaya, coming back up the mountain.
"You spoiled our race." Huffed Rolo, starting a grudge.
"Be quiet Rolo, we could help her."
"Don't want to."
Alaya sighed and turned back to the taller girl, Lily, she remembered, who had been waiting patiently.

Sirik caught up.
"Sirik, say hi!"
The wolf raised his right paw, barked, then wandered off.
"Don't mind Sirik," Lily said, "He's only a wolf. He doesn't understand that you're supposed to be nice to new people. Anyway, I was really lonely and I wondered if we could walk together for a bit?"

"Sure! Sorry about Rolo though, he loves racing with me. We were just going down to the forest to hunt for food. You could come with us if you want,"
"Don't want em to come."
"Shut up Rolo, she hasn't seen other people for years, let them come with us,"
"Only if I get treat."
"Fine I'll get you a treat afterwards." Sighed Alaya, a bit annoyed and embarrassed by this time.

"It's OK," Replied Lily, not wanting to upset the dragon, "We can race together! Sirik! Come on, let's race!"
The wolf grunted and loped away in the other direction.
Lily sighed. "OK Rolo, looks like it's just you, me and Alaya. 3! 2! 1! Go!"

Alaya rushed down the mountain, tripped, and rolled off down a path neither her or Rolo had seen before, without any of the others knowing where she had gone.

Moni let out a huge yawn, the got up shocked. " Oh no Fa-..." Moni turned his head to see too girls a wolf and a dragon? He got the same feeling of those as the others. He wished he could get close enough for some amount of DNA, but before he decided they Ran."D-did they spot me? not likely since I look like a rabbit. Oh, they we're racing." Moni knew he had to get to Fate soon before she really over reacted. When he thought the close was clear he ran. to Fate.
(Moni runs like 10 times faster than a rabbit. so Fast)

"Huh?" Lily skidded to a halt. "Alaya! Where'd you go?"
As she was stood there, looking around, Rolo made it to the bottom of the hill. He spread his small wings and flew back up.
"I won, I won!" he shouted. "Where's Alaya?"

Alaya opened her eyes to find herself at the foot of a huge tree with a huge treehouse fortress in its branches.
"I'm certain this path was never here before. It must be some sort of trick. But who would do such a thing?" she said to herself, confused, before standing up and heading back the way she had come.

(By the way, Alaya has lived in those mountains for 10 years, should have put it on history.)

"GAH!" Fate fell backwards surprised. "OH! MONI!" she hugged Moni really hard. "FATE GAH!" "sorry. And I told yo not to be gone so long." " I know but I have information! I saw these girls and these um pets of theirs." "Fate knocked n Monis head "OW!" sorry just seeing if you hit your head or something." Fate then peers over her shoulder, no one was there but those two. they made such a mess. Couldn't they try fitting in? "Let's get going. I don't need any more head aches. so where did you see the other two?" "Up ahead near that path that goes down hill, the one the hunters take." Fate smiled. Let's go.

Rohanna quickened her pace, making for the gates. Behind her, she heard the slight crackle of fire and her eyes widened in the shadows of her cowl. Something glass shattered from the heat of the flames, and Rohanna whipped around and saw a building on fire. She started turning back towards the gate, grabbing for Rox's arm.
"Okay, we're out of he- oh..." Rohanna searched her mind for an appropriate word. "Well, this is vexing."
Five figures, strange beings in black clothing, stood before them on the road. Harsh laughter sounded from behind her and she looked at them.
Each figure had one arm on the right side, two arms on the left, and each arm was carrying a weapon of some sort. Their eyes shone black from the cloth that bound their whole face, and black paste of some type was smeared on any skin that would have been revealed. Rohanna saw everything from clubs to whips to swords being carried, and said something nasty in a different language.
"Rox, we apparently have trouble that cannot avoid. We will have to fight." Rohanna said, and wished there was a way she could get a message to Star.
Something streaked out of the sky and circled above her. Rohanna looked up in complete surprise and realized she had forgotten about Shadow Striker. "Fetch Star!" Rohanna yelled in desperation. "Star! Get Star! You can't fight!"
The kestrel circled one more time, then streaked off.

Before Fate entered the woods Moni griped her shoulder tight. "OW!" she spun around.
Her eyes grew wide of the sight of the building on Fire. "Fate can you fix that?"
Fate smiled "of course i can. But the others are over there... DAMN IT!" Fate started running back. " I didn't want to see them again." "Fate I feel a weird energy source around that fire." " What kind of..."

Rox whistled, her familiar call now.
A now energetic Tallula suddenly galloped towards them, almost out of nowhere. Rox spoke a few words to her in her native tongue, and Tallula neighed.
Rox pulled out her dagger, flipped it, then caught it again - a force of habit.
Rox heard something in the distance - most likely Star coming.
Or possibly not.
Rox hoped it was the former.
"K, so you wanna start kicking butt now, or you wanna wait 'till Star get's here?"

"Oh, Alaya! There you are! What happened?" Lily babbled. "Rolo won. What now?"

[RohannaFalcon]

"Let's start, she'll be here as soon as she can." Rohanna hissed through her teeth. The figures turned at the sound of metal rasping against metal as Rohanna drew the dirk out of its sheath. The blue-tinted metal glinted dangerously in the light and Rohanna fumbled with her left sleeve.
One of the figures, holding a bow and a sword, roared and set an arrow to the bow with a right and left arm. The other left arm, holding the sword, hefted the said sword and the figure drew the bow back and shot directly at Rohanna.
Rohanna jumped at the last moment and the arrow whizzed under her, crashing through a candy store window. Rohanna landed again and said, "My turn." She jumped again this time, flipped over the thing's head, and landed directly behind it, scoring a line diagonally across its back from shoulder to waist. It screeched and turned, and Rohanna skipped backwards and suddenly whipped her left hand up and threw it forwards. Something blurred through the air and a small knife sprouted from the back of another figure's neck.
"These... what are they?" Rohanna yelled, as the figure pulled out the knife and threw it on the ground. It hadn't hurt it at all. "It's as if they're invincible!"

"Fate, Do you think those two in the woods could help wi-..." Fate turns around and head away from the town the woods and the field. " Fate where are you going" She kept walking until she was a pretty far away from that spot. " I don't need anyone else. they don't care about me. I'm a freak to them." Tears now down her eyes. " We'll be fine on are own." she forces a smile. "Fate..."

Star was resting happily in a beam of sunlight when something fell out of the sky and onto her, shrieking about something in the language of falcons.
"Calm down! Calm dow- oh, it's you." She said, looking at Shadow Striker. "What is it?"
He shrieked again.
Star sighed. "In a language I can understand, or.... forget that. Could you repeat that?"
He shrieked again, and Star listened to Rohanna's request. Her eyes grew wide and she stood suddenly. "She's in trouble!" With a furious look around, Star began to run towards the path. "Bother that! I can't take off in these trees. But I ate, so I have plenty of gas in my flight stomache. I can take off from flat ground."
She leaped out onto the road and was surprised to see a small person running away from the town. "Hallo... wait, Rohanna told me about you." She said, planting herself squarely in front of the girl. "You have powers, lucky you! Now, I have to go, because people are probably getting killed or hurt and are in need of my help. Yours would be highly valued, I know I value it. Good day, and come on we are going back there."
Star gave Fate a look, then snapped her wings open and leaped down the road. She flapped hard, but was light enough to get off the ground. She managed to get enough height and started circling, waiting for Fate's response.

"Damn it Rohanna. seems like you to have stubborn pet too!" She gripped her fist. then sighed. then looked at the Dragon. " I know she wont leave until I come." Now louder. "HEY! DRAGON! KEEP UP!" she looked at Moni. He smiled then nodded. In a burst of Light, Moni and Fate went together( into this creature thing i'll explain latter) I growled then went a bit faster then Moni could go. (so like really fast. LoLz)

(( Thanks Lobsession! It only took about 10-15 minutes to do. I'm quite good on MSPaint, if I do say so myself. However, I'm rubbish on the more advanced drawing tools. Drawing by hand and on Paint, that's all I can do.
Also the reason I haven't posted as my character is that I'm waiting for draco, and she's busy right now. (We're sisters) ))

"Well, if my calculations are right, we're royally screwed." Rox said. One of the...things approached her. It shot an arrow at her. She ran towards the thing, and the arrow, then ducked and slid under it, cutting through it's leg. Tallula whinnied. The arrow had landed right in front of her hoof.
"Suedo, Tallula!" Rox apologized as she kicked another of the things in the head. Tallula huffed. She then caused one of the creatures to fly across the area and to crash through the cafe's window, sending glass flying everywhere.
Rox deflected a sword with her dagger's hilt, then used the blade to cut one of the hands holding the bow with the tip. She kicked the sword out of it's hand, then kneed it in the stomach. When it bent forward, she grabbed it, spun around, and used it as a shield to protect her from the spray of glass.
When the glass stopped raining down, she pushed him to the ground and rushed on another of the creatures, jumping on to it's back and stabbing it in the eye. ((It has eyes, right??)) She jumped off, threw her dagger up, and then straighted her hands. She used her hands like knife's, and hit two arms of another creature. It released it's weapons, and the dagger's tip sheathed itself in the creatures head.
Rox stretched and pulled her dagger out.
"This is gonna take a while." She said.

(( It is pretty good! I can't draw with a mouse, myself. ))

Star was already flying towards the village. She was quite high up, but not far up enough to not hear Fate's words. "Keep up, eh?" She said quietly. "YOU KEEP UP, MINI GIRL!" She roared, then folded her wings in nearly all the way and dove towards the town far below her.
Rohanna looked up as a shadow passed over head, and so did the figures. Something small whipped by her head, and something huge suddenly flared out enormous wings and shot a few feet over her head. The wind stirred up caught the figures off guard and they were unbalanced, and the huge thing circled around and landed with a cloud of dust behind them.
"You're late." Rohanna said. "What kept you?"
"A munchkin. She should be here by now." Star said, then Rohanna jumped away as Star lunged forwards and opened her jaws wide. Flames spewed out and engulfed one of the dark figures, and Rohanna was relieved to find out they weren't immune to pain.

As this creature entered the scene not long after Star. It let out the best RAwR it could, but it sounded like it was in pain. a light flashed then the two came undone. "It's no use!" yelled Fate when the light was gone. "she gives me such a head ache i can't stay in that form!" she was gripped her head. "What the Hell?! what a mess you made of this city are you trying to help it or destroy it?!"

"I rolled down that new path there, it only appeared today, but I'm fine now. Let's go hunting in the forest now."Said Alaya, determined to make sure there was no more delays between her and her dinner.

"Fair enough," Lily replied, heading downhill, "What sort of stuff is there to eat in there?"

"I thought it needed a makeover." Rox said, "accidentally" knocking a bench over. She was delighted to see Star burning the creatures to ashes, knowing it would make the fight much, much easier.

"There's a few deer, a couple of boars and plenty of berries, I think. I haven't been hunting in that forest for a week or 2." Replied Alaya, setting off AGAIN.

Fate blinks a few times. then thought.. it's like she spoke like I was an equal... then went over to the building that was on fire. "Damn it! you couldn't even fix this?" Fate then puts her hands together like she's praying, the madly opens her eyes and swiped her hand across the air. The Fire started going down then it was out.

"Oh, but I saw a rabbit earlier. Is that normal?" (( It's Moni btw ))

(( L04, You don't have fire or air powers. And until you get the light Sword, you don't have light powers either. How are you doing this? By minor magical powers I meant stuff like healing tiny cuts or putting out candles by looking at them, not huge raging house fires.
It's nearly impossible to put them out unless you have major magical powers, and there are no fire trucks in this post-apocalyptic place.))

"No time for that!" Rohanna leaped forwards and snatched up the small throwing knife from the ground. "I'll clean this -nmph!- later." She thrust the dirk deep into the side of a figure, then yanked it out and leaped away again. Nimbly she jumped onto a bench, then onto the top of a trash can, then onto the awning of a building and from there to a roof to the top of a flagpole. Star roared again, blasting the creatures with flames. She was crouched in the center of the road with her head low to the ground, and her tail lashed back and forth. Her wings were slightly away from her sides, which were extremely hot.

"No, there aren't any rabbits on these mountains, let's go check it out," Replied Alaya, so curious and confused that she forgot how hungry she was.
"Come on!"

*Fate scratches her head. "well I can't fight. but I'm good at defense" she yawned. " Well I am off no help to you guys." Fate sat on a bench. " Hey Moni, you sure those others didn't see you?" "um, I tried but it's possible."

(( L04, I wonder what you're angry about. You know you can edit it right... oh, wait, you can't do that yet. You still have to post at least five times in places other than the Off-Topics to be able to edit! So you could edit and say something about how it's too big to fix or some such.))

Rohanna closed her left eye- it hurt when she looked at the fire, it was too bright. Above her, the sun was shining brightly and the clouds were puffy and white, oblivious to the destruction going on below. So strange.
Rohanna perched atop the flagpole, looking around. Where were Rox and Tallula?!

Rox kicked one figure on the chin, whipping it's head back and breaking it's neck. The creature fell and she stabbed it once in the neck, just for good measure.
She saw Tallula and thought of something.
She jumped up, moved back, and pushed her feet in to the head of one of the creatures, then she propelled herself forward, fist first, punching another in the jaw and then bringing her knees forward, kneeing it in the stomach. It fell forward and she straightened her knees. She was pushed up. She landed on the roof of a building.
"Try and get me now you mutated fungus!" Rox yelled as she threw her dagger at one of their eyes.
"Itu!" She said, and she jumped off, landing on Tallula's back. Tallula neighed and rushed through the creatures. Rox grabbed her dagger from the eye of the figure and pulled the figure up with it. She punched it in the nose, pulled her dagger out, grabbed it's neck, and then she stabbed it where it's heart would be. She threw it on to the ground.
"Yeehaw!"
((Oh do you want me to come get you or something? And btw, Tallula can put out the fire if you want))

Fate stood there staring at this um, not a fight more like a bully killing some people. Fate smirked. "heres my chance, I'll get out of here." she saw her way out, by eyeing different options, Moni realized and got on her shoulder.

"Youuuu are going nowhere." Star hissed, taking a break from spewing flames. She glared at Fate. "And if you try I will.... I will.... knock you out. Or burn you! Something." She turned back and burped out a string of nasty-smelling fire at the figures, careful to miss Rox and Tallula.
((No Sword, no powers! :( Sorry! ))
Rohanna gave Star the go-ahead and she destroyed the last two figures. "NOW we can go!" Roared Star, and she took a few leaps and jumped as high as she could into the air. Her wings flapped deseperately, then she gained control of the air and soared upwards. She circled a few times on the massive updrafts from the house fires, then swooped down and looked at Rohanna. As she passed near the flagpole, Rohanna leaped off and landed in between her huge wings, managing to grab the band on Star's neck and hang on. Once she had seated herself, Star said, "I can take another if I grab them and don't have to go far. Should we get Rox or Tallula?"
"How about both?"
"Drop something heavy and maybe."
"Drop me off at the edge of the city."
Star shot towards the edge and Rohanna jumped off, landing atop a low building. She leaped onto another flagpole, then off and ran across the building tops. Jumping onto the Gates, she paused just long enough to lock them and jumped off.
Star flew back and circled above Rox and Tallula. "Need a ride? Rohanna locked the Gates and I can take you." She roared over the din.

Tallula neighed.
"That would be peachy." Rox said. She stood atop of Tallula, then jumped on to Star's back.

Fates fist Grip. then she glares at those 2.

Lily sighed, she was hungry too. "Fine." She replied moodily.
Then an idea struck her. "Why don't we hunt and track the rabbit at the same time?"

(( Star's a companion! Not a pet. Shadow Striker's a pet. And I said no cursing!))

Star ignored Tallula's protests and scooped the horse up in her paws. Flapping her wings hard, she grunted. "Oof! Tallula, you're heavy. Probably because of the water thing." She turned and spurted fire at the things to make sure they wouldn't pursue them, and realized they would have to zigzag through a horrid maze of fire to reach the Gates, and walls of flame prevented them from going any other way. And Star couldn't get much height.
"Hold onto that leather band." Star instructed and, as Rox snatched it, Star shot forwards and began to maneuver through the fire.
Rox was probably dizzy by now, Star thought vaguely, as she spun over and viewed the world upside-down three times in one second. Tallula was struggling still as the buildings blurred past. Star squinted and saw ahead- the Gates was a raging blaze.

Rohanna saw the Gates burst into flame and choked momentarily with horror. Where were Star, and Rox and Tallula?! She stared as the flames curled up into the bright sky. Star shot through and landed beside her, dropping Tallula before she landed. She nosed Rox off her back and said, "Well, that's everyone."
Rohanna looked around, then she nearly fell over. "Where's FATE?!"

"Who now?" Rox said, blinking, trying to get her balance. Tallula was neighing like there was no tomorrow. Rox wobbled over to her and started petting her.
"It's ok, it's ok, the big scary dragon can't get you now." Rox said, soothing her.
She then looked around.
"Oh crap! Fate's in there!" Rox said, now starting to panic. Tallula huffed.

" what did I tell you moni? we're not worth their time." Fate sat up, and the two fused. in their head Moni said "Fate i'm sure they..." " NO! They left us! Now come on before we burn to death." The thing fastly jumped, maneuvered and dug past the fire. they came to the gate, and with Fates head ache they came undone.

"That's what I said!" Rohanna panicked. "Star, can I ride you and you can still carry Fate?"
"That girl's small enough to carry you, her, Moni, and Rox. I could carry you all... did you do something magic?"
"I'm not a magical being! How could I?"
"Then it must be Tallula rubbing off on me or something. Anyways, I'm a lot lighter now. Huh."
"Rox, are you coming? More eyes are better for seeing her. And I'm sorry but if we find her, she's going to be riding in Star's claws instead of on her back, we don't have time! We have GOT to get her out of there before this place collapses. Tallula will have to stay here." Rohanna strode over to Star and climbed up onto her back. "Coming or not?" She asked Rox.

Rox stroked Tallula's mane, whispered a few words to her, and then walked over to Rohanna.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming." Rox climbed on to Star's back and waited.

Lily and Alaya came across the rabbit's tracks, and began to follow them.
"Wow," Lily gasped, "look how far apart its tracks are! It must have been running really fast!" She saw a large bird swoop overhead and, with lightning reactions, loaded an arrow and shot it down. Sirik knew what to do. He raced to the point in which the bird had landed, scooped it up in his jaws and brought it back. Lily slung it over her shoulder, so they could eat when Alaya satisfied her curiosity. For now, she grabbed a peach from a nearby tree and bit into it, the juice spilling down her face. "Mmmmmm..."

"Great." Star said, and jumped. This time she didn't need to run before getting momentum, she just jumped and flapped a few times as she soared into the air.
"Okay, something happened. SOMEBODY did something to me!" Star growled and banked towards the fire. She circled around until Rohanna finally spotted the Fate/Moni thing inside a ring of flames, glancing around.
"There!" Rohanna yelled, pointing. Star looked, then folded her wings about halfway and dropped like a stone. Shadow Striker went down and screeched something before being blown away by the hot air. Fate had time to looked up, confused, before Star's paws closed around her.
Star again had to navigate the maze of fire- but this time it was much smaller. She shot back and forth, nearly crashing into buildings, spinning, banking, flipping, and the flames blocked their path at every turn. Star had to shoot towards it and at the last second she majestically broke through the curtain of flames, her wingtips on fire. The fire curled away from her as she shot through, and then she performed a not-so-majestic crash landing, dropping Fate/Moni first so she wouldn't squash them. Rohanna jumped off and abruptly fell over, dizzy, and Shadow Striker landed on Star's wingtip and pecked at the burning bits. Rohanna managed to fall on one wingtip and put the fire out, but said, "Rox, can you get the other wing? My head is spinning..."

"You're not the only one." Rox said. She did as she was asked. Then she turned to Fate.
"You okay?" She asked.

Fate suddenly blacked out, Moni ran to her side. scared.

Eventually, Rohanna recovered enough to slap her cloak on the fire and put it out herself. Star was exhausted- neither Rohanna nor Rox nor (apparently) Tallula had magicked Star- it was her own doing. Although how, she wasn't quite sure- she was a dragon, yes, and she was a magical being, but she didn't have the power to make herself incredibly light.
Whatever she had done had completely sapped all her strength and she could barely move from the spot where she was, and promptly fell asleep.

The Endless Sands, Inland Taekai
Wind scoured the shapeless landscape constantly. Tiny grains of sand were flung through the air in a stiff, strong breeze, and the dunes rippled as the wind blew over them.
Suddenly the wind stopped. The small sandstorm was over, leaving the sun to continue baking the Sands. Deep in the center of the Sands, the worn old walls of an Old-Age city lay, resisting the winds and sand. Spikes of scrap metal and stone poked up from the sand here and there, and no life showed in the desolate landscape.
In the shadows of the city's walls, a few tough desert plants lay withering. Desert rain was scarce, so it was hard to survive. But life still was here.
Small lizards scuttled in the city's decrepit streets, catching the small insects that fed on rotting material. Long, flat ribbon-snakes slipped through shadows or directly up walls, or even through the air on silky coils. The small ones ate the lizards, and the large ones ate the lizards and the small ones.
A man-sized Dervil crouched near a non-operational fountain, its long claws picking at the remains of a ribbon-snake.
Farther out in the dunes, a huge insect waited until it felt the pattering of dervil feet on the sand, then surged out and swallowed unfortunate critter. Above, a sand-dragon screamed and swept down, slashing at the insect's head. The insect had no chance against the sand-dragon, and the dragon quickly settled to eat its meal.
The dervil in the city finished what it wanted with the dead ribbon-snake and scuttled off. Something gleamed from the shadows of the city, and the dervil peered closely at it.
It was a sword. A long, blue-tinted blade, with sapphires set in the willow-leaf metal. It was bendy and springy, with a grip wrapped in light blue silk and wave-like decorations on the crossguard. Crystalized rain drops ringed a smooth blue sapphire in the pommel, and the sword winked from the darkness.
The dervil sidled up to the blade and reached out. The moment it touched the metal, it snatched its hand back, howling, then ran off.
A few moments passed before a sand-dragon swooped out of the clear sky and landed in the city street, examined the blade, then snatched it with its teeth. The sword didn't seem to hurt the dragon, and it turned and leaped back into the sky.
Flying over the Sands, the dragon swept over another of its kind eating the insect, and the second sand-dragon caught the sparkle of the blade. It flew up to inspect the item, and attempted to snatch it from the first. The squabble grew into a small fight, and the sword was dropped. It buried itself point-down in the sand, far from the city, and was forgotten as once again, the sands covered it up. The silver blade winked one last time in the sun and was lost to the Endless Sands once again.

"I'll be back." Rox said.
Rox then jumped on to Tallula's back.
"Neyah, seye utata." Rox said. Tallula galloped to a clearing only fifteen yards away. In the clearing was a huge, saltwater lake.
Tallula ran straight in to it. Rox managed to jump off of her before she hit the water.
A blue light shone, and Tallula once again resembled a hippocampus. Rox sighed, content to be back in the water.
"I'm gonna find some fish for you, and the others, just in case." Rox said. Then she dove under.

Rohanna sighed and closed her eyes, leaning up against Star's side. She felt the dragon breathing deeply and wondered what had set off the magic that had helped of to fly. She patted the dragon gently, then pulled out her knives and cleaned them, and the sheaths. "We'd better get away from the coast- if other towns go the way that one did..." Rohanna sighed. "But it's nice to have a rest."

(( Oh. I guess the thing I did with figures wasn't so random after all, it had a purpose. Oopsie! ))

FAte screamed but she was still asleep. "Fate?" said Moni next to her worried. He looked at the others for help.

Rohanna smiled. The sunlight was making her drowsy, and the heat of Star's fire. She closed her eyes and let herself fall asleep.
The sun was rising when she awoke. But it was afternoon... Rohanna frowned as she stood in the middle of an open field, the wind blowing around her and rustling the flowers. How had she gotten here? She looked around for Star, or Rox or Tallula or Fate and Moni, but nobody was here.
"What? Where have they gone? What... Oh." Rohanna sighed. "That was stupid. I'm dreaming. I couldn't have slept the whole afternoon and night through to the next morning, and they wouldn't have dumped me somewhere and run off."
Rohanna sighed and started forwards through the grass.
Something rustled off to her left, and Rohanna frowned and looked through the waving stalks, but nothing was there. She shrugged and kept walking.
Then she really did wake up.
Rohanna started, then glanced around. The sun was setting, and Star was starting to wake up as well. Fate seemed to be okay, albeit asleep, and Rohanna frowned and shrugged. "Huh. That was weird."

Fate slowly woke up, the sat up fast and panicked. but she glanced around... she was saved. "ow" and by Rohanna. With Star so close she would notice her run. or would she at night. fate grabbed the now asleep Moni, and started army crawling away.

Rox arrived back as the sun was setting. Tallula had fallen asleep in a bed of seaweed, and Rox had left her there to rest. She had caught quite a few fish. She'd put some with Tallula, and she was currently carrying the rest back in a seaweed wrap.
"Yo, people." Rox said as she arrived. She looked around. Fate and Moni were gone.
Rox shrugged and put the fish down. Then she started to make a fire.
"Rohanna, where'd Fate go?"

Rohanna looked up from her blades. "Fate? Huh? I thought she was asleep." A quick scan of the area showed that Fate was nowhere to be seen. "Oh. I don't know."
Star was awake now. "Maybe she went back into the city to rescue as much candy as she could from the candy shop? It'd be just like her to do that."
"Hush, you." Rohanna said, flapping a hand at Star. Star snorted.
"If it hadn't been for me today, you all would have died." She said. "You should all be grateful and offer me food and stuff and treat me royally."
"Of course not, Your Majesty." Rohanna said, still not looking at her. "I'll get you some squirrels presently."
"Eeeew, no!" Star squawked, recoiling. "I hate squirrels!

"That's nasty." Rox said. She sat back on her heels and watched the fire roar to life (slowly, that is). She wiped her hands off on her jeans and picked up the bundle of fish.
"I have fish, fish, more fish, and some weird looking animal." She said. She pulled a pan from the bag that she'd taken from Tallula, who usually kept it on her back.
She pulled her dagger out and started skinning a fish.
"I also have some water flowers."

Rohanna leaned over. "Weird looking animal? Lemme see." She tried to look in the bag, but suddenly she recoiled and gasped in pain, then slapped her hands over her left eye, drawing attention from Rox. "Ow!"

"What? What's wrong?" Rox asked. She looked from Rohanna to the bag, and back to Rohanna.

"The fire. It hurts my eye becau-" Rohanna stopped in midspeech. Well, if she was going to talk to Rox often, she'd better tell her why it felt really disturbing to look at her.
"Here, look." Rohanna uncovered her eye and stared into Rox's blue eyes. "Look at my eyes. My pupils, actually."
She paused, then turned and glanced at the fire quickly, wincing as she did so. "When I do that, my pupils should both get very small, very quickly. But look." She opened her eyes wide and let the light shine on them. "The left one doesn't go down. It's so large there's almost no iris left in that eye, and it's stuck like that. I don't know why, but it always is. I can always see in the dark, but looking at bright lights hurts it." She pulled away. "The fire shone in my eye, which is why it hurt. And the eye thing is why it feels disconcerting when you're talking to me."

"Oh, I see. I suppose that makes sense." Rox said as she continued to cook. "I'll try to keep the fire down some, then."

"Neh, it's fine," Rohanna said, pulling her cowl up over her brown hair. "I'll just put this up and it'll be fine."

"Achooo!" Fate covered her mouth and peered behind her.

"What was that?" She asked as she put a fish on the pan.

*shivers went down Fate spine. and she slowly tried getting away.

Rohanna turned and stared into the darkness, closing her right eye. "Fate," she said slowly, "get back here. I can see you."
"Nice eye," Star grinned, showing a lot of very sharp teeth.
"It has it's uses." Rohanna said, retrieving Fate.

"Fate! You little weirdo! Why were you spying on us when you could have just stayed!?" Rox stood and yelled.

Rohanna sighed. Star turned away and stared up at the star-strewn sky, eyes bright. "Hey, Rohanna," Star said slowly, "What's going on up there?"
"Hm?" Rohanna said, distracted. She looked up at the stars and her eyes widened. "Oh!" She cried out.
"Rox! Fate! Look!" She said, pointing up.
Streaks of light shot across the sky, flickering brightly in different colors- some green, white, red, or yellow. They lasted a few seconds before dying out, and Rohanna gasped. "It's a meteor shower! I haven't seen one of these in ages!"

She looked a lot more peaceful and calm when she was asleep. Rather cute, actually. Rohanna smiled and turned back to the fire to eat her fish. Star told Rox and Rohanna that she would find something better to eat in the morning.

Maybe a cow." She burst out laughing at Rohanna's look and said, "No, I cannot eat a cow! They are far too large. A deer is probably the largest thing I can eat."

I cooked, cleaned, helped him skin the fish, and he taught me to fish. So I've been cooking since I was re-born."

I might have been more girly, because the outfit I was found in was super preppy. But I can't exactly guess. I'm probably different then I was then." Rox explained.

"So that's your history." She said, looking at Rox. Her eyes glinted again, and seemed to penetrate Rox, looking deep into her mind.

(( Ah, whatever. I can't make them any bigger because the picture was already too large and I'll have to mess with it a lot and I'll just say what the bits are.

The red thing at the top is The Red Desert. To the right is Stormfast Island and the Bay of Snows.
Under the Red Desert is the Endless Sands, and to the left of the Endless Sands is the Great Lake. Running from the Great lake are a few rivers, the largest of which is the Dewpon River.
The Dewpon River runs through Dark Forest and past the Great Rift. On the left of the Dark Forest is Blackhill Ridge, and under it is The Firelands.
On the right of the Dark Forest is the Mountain of Shadows, under that the Death Swamp and under that the Acid Lakes and Acid Swamp.
The Dewpon River then takes a right turn and heads through the base of the Brokefang Mountains and through the Bright Forest (Past the Guardian's Dwelling, Skyshard Lake and Mirror Lake) to the coast where it empties out into the Bay of Binturong via the Dewpon River Delta. To the right of the Dewpon River Delta are four islands: the largest, Kanis, the smallest, Scis, the second smallest, Turo, and the second largest, Firthkin.
Just up the coast from the Delta is the Lagoon, a calm and peaceful place ideal for relaxation.
Travelling more up the coast from the Islands we have a dead nuclear power plant. Under the plant is Moon Lake, and under that Dragon Mountain, the mountain on which a ferocious and very territorial dragon lives. The power plant's fallout zone had odd spikes and drops in it's explosion fallout zone, and oddly the zone spikes right over Fate's village, possibly causing the people there to have powers.
Out to sea there is the Bay of Binturong and Barrier Island, with a ruined city and a New-Age village.
Farther up the coast is the Forest of Secrets containing the Glade of Jewels and the Serpent's Cave. Even further North is another dead power plant and Gull Point. Above that is the Bay of Snows and Stormfast Island.
To the North of this country (Taekai) is The Northern Wastes. To the South is the Wild Jungle.

Rox looked away from Rohanna's piercing gaze and poked the fire with a stick.
"Yep. That's my history." Rox turned to look at her again. "What's yours?"

Rohanna blinked, taken by surprise. Star put her head up- Rohanna had never told her what happened, either.
"I am going to tell you a story." Rohanna said, looking into the fire.
"The apocalypse was ten years ago. There was a girl, who lived in a large house in the country. Her name was Katherine Angela McCasey. When the cities nearby were wiped out,they didn't have a clue what was going on. They saw the power plant a few miles away blow up one day, and a huge cloud of fire and ashes hid the sun from the sky and caused death in the land. Not near their farm, though. They were outside the fallout zone of nuclear plant." Rohanna paused, blinked, and continued.
"They didn't think much of it- they thought it must have been a terrible malfunction. The ash cleared eventually, and they were far enough away that their land was unaffected. Then one day, slavecatchers came with their carts and their whips. They set fire to Katherine's house, and her father feared for all of their lives. He gave Katherine some weaponry hanging on the wall and a cloak that would hide her from enemy eyes."
"So, Katherine took the cloak and the weapons. She went out to where the family kept their falconry birds and took two kestrels, and she ran. She ran, and so did her sister, little Amelia Kimberly McCasey. Katherine cleared the fields and escaped into the trees, and turned to watch her parents be caught by the slavecatchers. However, in the smoke, Amelia disappeared. Katherine searched for her after but couldn't find her."
Rohanna paused again, and Star leaned forwards and snorted flames onto the crackling fire.
"A year later, Katherine was six and capable of living on her own. She left what was left of her family's property and traveled through the Forest of Secrets until she reached the Brokefang Mountains. She went up a mountain, the mountain of the dragon Ferarchie. There on that mountainside she found a wounded young dragon by the name of Sunfell. Katherine and Sunfell struck an agreement: They would travel together, forever.
Stardancer looked uncomfortable. Rohanna raised her head from the embers and looked up at the meteors. In a chilly voice, she said, "They both died that night."
On her shoulder, Shadow Striker chittered something quietly and Rohanna took a deep breath. "They're dead now. Sunfell and Katherine died, when Katherine was six and Sunfell was a year and a half."
She fell silent.

Rohanna looked up sharply, but there was surprise in her glance, as if she hadn't intended to say anything. Her face twisted slightly as two different emotions battled within her, and then it creased into a frown. "Nothing," She hissed, then whirled and stalked away, out of the firelight. Star lifted up a wing and Rohanna's cloak whirled around her as she settled underneath the feathery roof, her face hidden by her cowl. Lowering her wing, Star cast an apologetic glance at Rox and put her head under it to go to sleep. A few moments passed, then Star pulled her head out and stretched her neck over to Rox.
"She's lost. Just let her find her way back to herself, and she'll be fine. However," Star sighed, "I'm not sure that'll happen anytime soon." She withdrew again, leaving Rox with confusion, the metors, the night, and silence.

Rox sighed and scooped up some dirt. She put the fire out and traveled back to the lake, where Tallula rested.
As the night wrapped around her, Rox pondered Star's earlier question.
"Who was I? Who am I?" She asked aloud, to no one in particular. It was something she'd asked herself before. Rox reached under her shirt and pulled out her necklace. She'd been wearing it since the day she was "born".

It was extremely old, and it was pure silver. Waves were etched in to it, and a tiny stone , that looked like it was crystallized ocean, lay in the center of a tidal wave.
Rox sighed. Then she whistled.
An angry and half-asleep Tallula appeared.
She neighed.
Rox smiled and stroked her mane. Then she climbed on to her back.
"We need to pay our home a quick visit, girl." She said. Tallula huffed and started running.
