Overall, the video is pretty good. No arguing the Skip Morris is a master fly tyer and excellent teacher of the art. It helps immensely to be able to actually watch him tie each of these fly patterns to see his technique and the exact sequence of putting the fly together. While it is easy to get the recipe for these fly patterns from a book or on the Internet, It is no substitute for actually being able to see the techniques used to produce them. Kind of goes back to the old "a picture is worth a thousand words" saying.
Now womens nike high heels (http://womensjordanhighheels.com) , lets discuss the actual fly fishing for bass instructions given in this DVD. While the tying part was excellent, I have to admit I was quite disappointed in the actual fishing instruction given in this video. Especially since the on water instruction part had been touted in the synopsis of the DVD.
So, to recap nike dunk heels cheap (http://www.nikeheels-women.com) , if you are looking for in depth information and instruction on fly fishing for largemouth bass you may be better off looking elsewhere. It just does not provide enough depth on largemouth bass fly fishing techniques.
While the fishing instruction was technically correct, it was very basic and quite skimpy. No real new ground broken here, and if you have ever cast for bass or panfish with a fly rod you probably already know all the information covered here strictly through your own trial and error. If you buy this DVD for the fly fishing instruction aspect alone, you will be sorely disappointed. It just isn't here.
Not only does the video provide the clear tying instructions, it also provides you with a good number of useful tips and shortcuts that you can use in your own tying beyond these 5 bass fly patterns. Now, I am no means an expert fly tyer, far from it, but I am also not a newbie to this arena either. That being said, I found the tips and instruction that Skip provided for tying and trimming deer hair bugs to be worth the price of the DVD alone.
Taping into this interest nike heels for women for sale (http://fashionshoesstores.com) , Skip Morris has produced a DVD called The Art of Tying the Bass Fly. On this DVD he provides instruction for tying and fishing 5 of his favorite largemouth bass fly patterns. The step-by-step instruction is designed to not only make tying these bass patterns easier, but to also make your time on the water with them more productive and enjoyable.
His tips on choosing hair, spinning it and the always tricky trimming of the hair into a recognizable fly were terrific. It has really taken my hair bugs to a new level and made tying them much easier and much less intimidating. Especially the trimming part where one false move can ruin the whole fly.
However, if you are interested in learning how to tie 5 effective bass fly patterns and to improve your fly tying techniques you will most likely be very pleased with this DVD. If that is where your interest lies then I wholeheartedly recommend picking up a copy of Skip Morris' Art of Tying the Bass Fly DVD.
The best part of pursuing the largemouth bass with a fly rod is accessibility. While many of us have to load and up drive for several hours to reach quality trout waters, there is usually a small pond or lake within walking distance of everyone that has a willing population of largemouth bass. This easy access coupled with the dogged fight of the largemouth bass has helped make this a fast growing and popular area of fly fishing.
