I think I just noticed something. You know those circles under the items? When their bronze does that mean they sell for gems and when their grey that means they sell for wood/gold?

Almost. I do think that the bronze indicates something exclusive, as in very expensive. THe Luxury mines and mills, the statues, the cherry trees. All of those doesn't cost gems. :)
