Hey! I've started this thread to talk about stuff related to Dragonadopters, and to post your dragons if you want. My Lizardus, Kelius, is in my siggy but if yours isn't, post it here and I'll visit it.

I found Dragonadopters on this forum! I love it!

Hi there! I haven't posted in a while. Kelius hasn't grown to a teenager yet, but he will soon! My sister (dracobreeder) is OBSESSED with Eastern dragons. Her plan is to have an Eastern dragon of every element.

Just to tell you. *whisper* Eastern dragons are the best. Because they can still fly when they are old. Them and the Ptero ones. Btw Lizarduses get REALLY fat when they are old.
*normal voice* I don't know about the rankpoints either. I was wondering and thinking. Maybe it is the number of healthy dragons? Or the amount of auras, fur, coins, ect, that you have?

Rankpoints are what you get via number of dragons and their levels + items and stuff etc.

I think Pterodragons are okay, but yeah, I see what you mean on you didn't know what they looked like. Personally when I first saw your dragon when you put it in your signature I thought "Oh, how CUTE! I should get me one of those." But I ended up getting the Eastern for their personality.

I did that because I am imaging myself saying it dramatically and being the dramatic person I am I could see myself raising my voice when I said water. So I did caps. But if it annoys you or anything I will change.

I made a HUGE mistake. I really wanted a Furdragon as my next dragon, as I don't really like Felidragons, but I got the breeds mixed up and got... A FELIDRAGON!!! But it's OK, I'll do my best to raise her as one of my own.

I could understand how. Other than looking at other people's dragons and taking care and leveling yours, there isn't much else to do. I would leave it completely if it wasn't for my conscience. That's one of the main reasons I came back to this forum, because I felt like I was abandoning all of the people that had come to like me. It sounds weird but it works for me.

I haven't heard of it, however inactive accounts may be deleted for space. Sometimes I don't visit my dragons for over a week but nothing really happens cepts it says they feel lonely without me.

I've just experienced an awful glitch. I was adopting my 2nd dragon, and I selected the eastern egg, and it gave me a wyvern! I hate wyverns, but I'm stuck with it now. I'll call him 'accident'.

I've seen Dragon Cave before. I'm not too keen. I mean, the dragons aren't as cute (which is one of the things I love about DA) and they can die. I don't want my dragons on DA to even grow up, but on DC they have to, otherwise they'll die. That's why, when I saw it before, I didn't sign up.

I prefer it, you don't need to do anything. The artwork is better too. And you can have as many as you want. It doesn't bother me if they die, the main point of the site is just to have something cool for your signature by the looks of it.

I also think it's cool you can view the parents.

What you may not like about it though, if you don't get enough clicks within 7 days, the egg or hatchling will die, and if you get too many clicks too fast, they can get sick, so you have to actively watch them.

I like dragon cave better, the dragons are actually cool looking and not cartoony, and you can have more than one egg/hatchling at a time. It kinda sucks if they don't get enough views they may perish, but there doesn't seem to be a set amount of views that they need (I looked on the forums and they said at least 500 views and 200 unique views to hatch but one of mine hatched with about 400 and like 100 so I dunno) I like how there are so many more species as well and it's a mystery what dragon you're going to get when you choose the egg (unless you look it up which I don't do :D)

On Dragon Cave, I have decided that it is too hard to get enough visits unless you are really popular. For example, apparently eggs need approx. 200 or so visits to hatch. My green baby got 8 before it died.

I find presenting the picture in the sig works better than simply the link. People tend to overlook or ignore text in a sig as opposed to interesting looking pictures.

Having said that I have no idea how my egg gets so many visits.

Also I believe the egg needs ~500 views to hatch and ~1000 to mature, as well as ~ 200 unique views to hatch and ~ 500 unique views to mature. (I saw this on the forums as a basic acceptance of values and it seems to fit with mine I think ... although mine have hatched earlier than that).

Each person can click every 24 hours, including yourself.

If you aren't on multiple forums/know 200 people/etc. Get one from the abandoned area, if people happen to click the lineage of one of the parents, they may see the egg and click it. This is how many of mine have 10,000 views, because they are from famous/popular lineages.

So Fareon is close to being Level 30 and I am considering adoption. It is either going to be a Wyvern, Felidragon, or Dark Dragon. If any of you think one is better than the other I would like to know because I have a hard time deciding.xD I am thinking either the Wyvern or Dark Dragon mostly, but the Felidragon is really cute as a baby so I don't knows. xD

I'm not too keen on Dark Dragons at the moment because everyone wants one and I like to be different. However they are pretty cool. Felis are cute as babies, but as you can see from Nikita, they lose their charm quite quickly. Wyverns are never cute but they do look really awesome. There's some positives and negatives of each one, hopefully it will help you choose.

Question about Dragonadopters. On other dragons pages they have "Dragon lottery" and "Dragon Artwork" usually. Do you have to customize the dragon page for it to be that way or is it automatic? And if it is automatic can you decide the amount of the Lottery?

It's automatic. And no, you can't choose the amount for the dragon lottery.

Yeah. Also, there's some sort of multiplier for how much you get from the lottery. If you don't have much aura/resources you won't get as much, but if you have loads, you'll get quite a bit. This is probably so that people with, say, 3 white aura don't get 500 in a lottery, and people with millions of different stuff don't get 2 aura.

That's pretty good considering you're only drawing with a mouse, nice job. However, you probably want to fix up the felidragon, the body looks squashed. Anatomically the front of the body should be broader because of the chest, and then taper toward the hind legs and tail (just check out pictures of big cats). Atm you have it the other way around, causing it to look a bit strange lol. That's probably my only major problem with it. The Lizardus also has the same problem to a degree, if you bring the body more downward at an angle behind it's front leg instead of cutting it straight across it would probably look a little better. Other than those very nice, especially with a mouse.

Also, since you're into drawing with paint, have you seen the pictures (http://bunnibunni.com/forums/album.php?albumid=46) I have drawn in paint with a mouse? Maybe you could get some inspiration from them for future endevours for your own creations :P

Wow, they were all done with a mouse? I can't draw at all with a mouse, and I'm not that good on paper. Luckily, our dad's thinking about getting a tablet for our big computer. (YAY!) Then you can see what my artwork's like.

Yes, I agree that the bit around Kelius's front leg looks a it dodgy, but I have to say I didn't notice anything wrong with Nikita. I'll change it when I get onto the other computer (where it's saved) then I'll post the improved version up. Also, any suggestions for a background? I think it looks a little boring, with them just standing in a plain white space, but my mind is blank.

I haven't gotten much of my tablet work up on here (the dragons in draconis were done with a tablet and fireworks), but in my signature it has a link to my art thread where you can see other mouse art as well as some real life stuff.

I don't draw backgrounds sorry. I pretty much fail at landscape art.

And yea, it's a pretty big misconception in a lot of amateur drawers, especially children, that the stomach should be fatter than the chest, but it's the other way around in many four-legged animals. I learn a lot from copying and observing real life things, so when I draw my art is anatomically as realistic as I see it. It means I can apply realism to my fantasy art. It also allows me to be able to pinpoint what is wrong with pictures, both my own and others' :p

That looks much better elpunt! Although you may want to extend the felidragons pale underside of the neck down in between the front the front legs so the neck looks less strange, coz right now the head looks way too top heavy, I think making the neck less skinny will do this and this can easily be done by doing what I just suggested and extending it between the front legs. Other than that nicely done.

I pick yellow! For I don't care which but yellow is my favourite colour so you should use it.

By the way, congratulations on your new black dragon hatchling! At least now if it looks like it won't make it to adult you can freeze it so it will live forever ^^

Thanks. About the hatchling. I'd like to name it but I think it would help if I knew its gender. However, on my scroll it doesn't have a gender symbol next to its name. Why?

You hatchling will get a gender when it gets its wings elpunt. That's at ~450 unique views and ~5 days left, give or take some. They grow up around 500 unique views, give or take some and after 4 days, sometimes after, but never before.

You need a male and a female dragon in dc to breed them. Not all dragons can breed outside of their own e.g. two-headed dragons, and sometimes dragons won't be interested in each other even if they should be able to breed.

I don't know how to resize pictures in paint so that they won't be all weird.

Okay two things. First, my Dark Dragon Egg hatched. She is a Female Earth and her name is Rocatierra which is spanish for rock-earth. xD Second, I saw like 3 different ancient Dark Dragons. And, to tell the truth, I don't think the ancients look all that good... xD The first one I saw was on "Rukia7fer"'s account. So if you look on Dragonadopters ranking and see him. Go look at his Dark Dragon and tell me what you think of them. I personally think they could have done better.

They could have included a lot more detail, and the angle doesn't look right. I think it's fine that it's flying, but the fact that it's head-on sort of ruins the effect.

Also, I just noticed something. In Lanoul's sprite in Sbacity's signature, his fangs look a very light blue rather than white. Is it just me?

Yea they are pale blue to me as well.

If you really want to test the colour of them you would need to take the picture and separate the pixel colour from the rest of the picture and set it aside to determine the true colour. Colour context sometimes confuses the brain and makes it see colours differently even though they are the same.

e.g. Believe it or not the squares A and B are the same tone, but they look completely different (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Grey_square_optical_illusion.PNG)

I did a quick drawing of a cave so that I could use it as a collective link to all my dragons (DC and DA). It's now in my my signature. On Dragonadopters forums, there is a forum designed specifically for posting your dragons, so I thought that would be the best place to link to. I know the picture's not great, I didn't intend it to be. I needed it to be easy to edit as I gain and lose dragons, and as they grow. Have a look and tell me what you think. Firstly, the teeth do look blue. Secondly, Elpunt, I like you drawing! I am guessing that the opening of the cave is in a shape of something, but for the life of me, I don't know what! xD But I like the colors and the shading, the action of the dragons, and especially the eggs in the background! I found out they are light blue. I did this by: Pasting it onto paint, then selecting 'brush', then zooming right in and selecting 'colour selector', selecting his fangs and then brushing it onto a white background. Problem solved!

Awesome color usage Draco!! Personally, I like the Polka-Dot better, but only because the other is a little to bright for me. xD But the first one does have a stain-glass effect to it that I do like about it. Good job on them! ^.^ And for another one, maybe you could try like a ray effect? Starting in one corner with one color and then moving to the other corner into a totally different color!! I have tried this with water color and it turns out cool if you have a lot of layers! xD Of course, that's with Water color.

I like the picture!~ ^.^ But I'm a little blank on who belongs to who. xD It looks as if they are Jumulus, Reptan/Lanoul, Aboleo, and Caeli. Is that right? But other wise, I love it!! They all seem to be smiling and have a nice relaxed form. And on the requests and if you should do it or not, it really is your choice. But I would put something to mark that it is yours just so there is no copyright. xD And secondly, I don't know if it is legal to charge money. xD But if you are dealing in Aura, Scales, or something like that, I would say probably something in exchange for the pic. But over all nice job! How long did it take you to do it?

Selling ingame items, resources, backgrounds, images, dragons or accounts for real money profit is strictly prohibited!

It doesn't say anything about ingame resources though, but if you are unsure you may want to post a topic on the forums asking about it.

I meant resources. However, the only DA resource you can exchange is Dragon Coins, and they're pretty hard to come by. If you could give people the other resources, I'd definitely make strangers pay in that. I wouldn't charge friends.

In regards to the picture, Sbacity, I did say it was a picture for Draco. Therefore it would make sense that it be a picture of Draco's dragons: Reptan, Tyran, Rolo and Aboleo. I'm sorry, I thought I'd made it clear.

The new game thing is interesting. It is a dragon race, and there are four different obstacles, running, flying, climbing, and something else(not in that order.) and each different dragon has different attributes according to its build. Dinos run faster than most others because its built for running. Easterns(?) are faster fliers because built slim and quick. So basically you put up a challenge on the main thing and dragons accept the challenge to race. You put a bet and time until the race on the challenge and then someone must except and the countdown until the race begins, starts. A way to boost your speed in different courses is to one, win and play more races, and two, give your dragon a "pumpkin" before the race. And the pumpkins can be bought as seeds for 1 coin and planted and grown. So its pretty interesting. Depending on your dragons attributes you might want to bet more or less if you think you'll win or lose. Just clarification. For bet you say maybe "2000 Red Aura" if you win, then the opponent must pay you that, if you lose you must pay opponent that. Pretty fun, but dragons cannot be in race after race. One race at a time and then I think it is like 5 or 6 hours for a cool down before it can race again. So Dragonadopter people, you might want to check that out.
