New Rp Ideas~

So welcome one and all to the hopefully birthplace of many new upcoming Rp. The point of this thread is to throw out new ideas for threads and then being able to tackle them one at a time, wether you need help starting one or are looking from more ideas for the next one.

So throw out some ideas, if you need help looking for ideas then here are some great starters.

Fantasy(Magical Fiction.)
Fanfic(Rp based on already written story. Exp: Sonic the HedgeHog.)
Sci-Fi(Futuristic Fiction)
Fiction(Anything imaginary idea from invisible fish in space to carnivorous palm tree zombie attacks.)
Historical(Based on time or place that has happened. Exp. World War II)

Okay, so it was kinda already thought that we should do another Rp since Bunni Family Rp died, some have already suggested Fantasy, which I personally would really enjoyed. Mandy suggested Medievil which I had been contemplating recently, but any other ideas are encouraged. Once we agree on what kind for SURE which shouldn't take to long then we can start constructing it team effort like.

I definitely think we should incorporate the 4 elements somehow.

My idea is a dragon-based RP where the human and dragon are companions. The dragon can control an element, and it is the human's goal to learn to control that element too.

Maybe we could make it like this.

1. Story how came to find dragon.
2. Learning how to use the elements with the dragon.
3. ?? Any ideas on a plot line? Big Evil guy? Massive destruction?

Oh, also should it be historic or more futuristic setting?

i'd like a more medieval setting, but that's just me. mine is like about these 3 separate countries on an island, and a evil darkness thing is just growing in the middle, it incorporates the elements, but in a way i can't tell right now, maybe next post. they (countries)have been progressing at different rates. one is like modern day, but with sorceresses, one is medieval, but with semi-primitive guns, and one is sorta futuristic with magic as well. and they don't really communicate at all, until the rp starts. and if we do the dragon thing, i could come up with the bad guy. 'a hero's a hero, but everybody loves a good villain.'

I also prefer a setting with less technology than today. I find it harder to imagine fantasy while still including modern-day stuff.

The ideas of the island thing would be interesting. We could each have a character that is a leader of each island And you have each group of islands, The Pyro(fire), and Hydro(water) I don't know the others, but then we can separate and be leaders on the different elemental islands. Possibly sound interesting?

Okay, let me try this again. after I read Mandy's post, I kinda imagined this.

Either Five large islands or grouping of islands, one large central island. This island has a history of destruction (We can make a good history for it later.) and there are four sorrunding islands, each one holds people that have powers in certain elements. The central island is believed to have socerers that can control all the elements, but has been thought empty all these centuries. But when trouble arises on the island the different element communities must drop their differences and combine to fight the enemy.

Now, this was just my first idea. Any comments? Like it? Hate it? Maybe part of it.

ok, can finally explain! here is a basic (and longer that expected)summery of the elements involved. also, the evil in the plot, what do u think!? also, the elves are human sized, the wise and fair(looking) kind

There were four very special groups of trees that spanned the island.Though they were in all four corners of the island, 3 out of four special groups of trees were destroyed. There are only 3 districts, but 1 of them tore down 2 of the groups of trees and another tore down the third. Only one group knows the true value in these trees.

The groups were of four large trees surrounding a much larger tree.

One tree housed birds and Fliers, and the like, and was simply called as such, Flyer's Tree, and the birds controlled the air.

Another tree housed badgers and other burrowers, who dug burrows around and with the roots, and hollowed the tree while allowing it to live, known now as Digger's Tree, they mastered the earth.

The third held snakes, amphibians, reptiles. They moved fast and smooth, like water over the roots and branches.The very bottom of the tree, it was hollowed, dropping down the ground to a secret opening to a large stream, leading to a northern river, and a place only the aquatic animals and the leader knew of. Fishes and other water-dependent animals kept to the pool under the opening as well. This was Scaled-one's Tree, and they mastered water.

The last housed manly grey foxes and squirrels, who climbed and lived as close to the sun as possible, and that was Sun-Climber's Tree, they controlled fire.

Each Tree's animals usually followed a personality line.
The Fliers were wise, strict, and caring. The Diggers were hard, but care-free, humerus and nice. The Scaled-Ones were silent, cold, and harsh. Never expect sympathy from them, 'cept the few mothers there. The Sun-Climbers were brash and bold, hot headed and funny. A bit pompoms, and not afraid to break rules.

Oh, I almost forgot the center tree! It housed meetings of the heads of the four trees. And when the elves came, and with permission, and great honer, They built the Elven Chief's home. Only the Leaders of the Trees, The Elven Chief, and the Tree Leaders, could enter and exit as they pleased.

It was even more important than that. It was called the Mother Tree, for it is believed to be one of the four trees that populated the whole island, that used to be completely covered in forests. It houses a few other secrets that only time will reveal to you.

There was one more Tree that still stood. Larger than all others, even Mother Tree, it looked dark and foreboding. All the bark on it was black, as if burned. The branches were still, bone-like, and gave off the blood-chilling noise of a drowned forest, but worse by the hundredth degree. When it did have leaves, they were shadowy and silent, even in a breeze. 'Unnatural', 'Evil', and 'Possessed by dark spirits' are frequent answers to the children's questions. But no one knows the evil growing in it's roots.

(and yes, we can include dragons somewhere, good and bad)

My RP idea:
Basically a kind of futuristic, sci-fi fantasy thing. I'll explain:
At the moment there is a huge war going on on earth. The sides? Takers V Rebels. The takers are trying to blow up the world, and the rebels trying to stop them. (Who wouldn't?)
Then there's the mutants...
Mutants are humans who have changed a bit, with things such as wings, bullet-proofness and guns in thumbs etc. They are advantaged due to their abilities, but are also easier to spot.

There's more RP content, but I'll explain that if it gets any further.

really, u post NOW after we finished waiting for u in the family rp?! >> and, though it is a good idea, most of us are talking about rps with elements and dragons and stuff
anyway, in mine you would either be an elf, a tree leader, or from the other countries on the island(there r 2. one is al plains and a river, with sorceresses, the other there is a volcano dominating the northern and western part, and they are the most modern-human-like.). there will be a few 'chosen ones' special people that can learn the ways of one of the trees, even though u are not an elf, but 1 of them will just be a special elf. or, you could be one of the dragon people that live with the dragons in the northern mountains (soon to be split in good an evil). or, with permission, you could be an evil spirit/beast/demon working for the dark lord, soon to be named. but only 1 0r 2 pll could do that. so, if u chose Digger's Tree, you would learn to master earth. actually, put down the tree u WANT, and i'll read ur personality of ur char and pick the tree, which will most likely be the one u picked.

Woh~ Mandy. xD I lost you. You were talking about 6 trees, elements trees(4), Mother Tree, Evil Tree. Are you saying there are other civilizations? (Plains and Rivers) Also (Volcanic) Plus Dragon people??? (Do I have it all?)

yep, but there were 4 groups of 5 trees. 3 of the groups were torn down by the other 2(/3)countries. the one that is left is the one i described (in the Elven forests) and the names given to them, it is in the center of the south eastern quadrant of the island. and there is one tree in the middle of the island that is evil. yep, but the countries borders don't go into the mountains in the north western side of the island,where the dragon people are, and the volcanic is in the south-eastern, the plains and river covers the northern part, and the Elven forests cover the south western. i will put up the map on deviant art and link it here if we start it.

Thanks for the map! It's really informative, and I understand a bit better now. However, you haven't included which tree's which. I'm assuming the one in the volcano area is fire, but I can't work out the rest. Also, although your idea is good, I think it might be unsuited to such a small group of RPers.

Okay, so I see evil tree, and the Glassario tree are alive? But when you say dead, do you mean forest gone or dead?

well, dead, torn down, i figured it was the same dif. The forest is gone, and the tree(s) is dead, one of them (don know which yet) was completely torn down, nothing, not even a stump....
and the tree groups all had trees like in the elf's forest, just their mother tree was different. the one to the north was water, to the west, fire, to the north west air. the elf's tree is earth, ground and plants and such. i messed up and forgot to put the lake around the north eastern tree....sorry... XD but that's it in a nutshell....
@elphuntthing- maybe it is a bit too big for such a small group.. idk, maybe we could confine it a bit. ideas super welcome!!!!

maybe this IS too complicated for a small rp. i have a much better idea, but it doesn't really involve elements as a main thing, but it can with dragons. whatever, i'll let someone else vote an idea and just watch for now....and wait for the decision...

Yeah, I think it is to big for a small-scale, but I still like the idea, maybe we can simplify it some? I'm thinking back to the idea of one large island with 5 districts. The four elemental districts surrounding the center district which has been thought deserted. And from there we could take it a few different ways.

Here's 1 way: The different elemental tribes have always lived separately, Acknowledging others politely to their face, but disgrace them when they are turned.

There was a legend that one man from *Insert elemental district* tried to make a friend within each district they each began reaching others within the districts telling them that they could live together in piece.

This man started building a city in the center of the island, this living together lasted awhile, but soon tempers flared and there was a riot, the United District was destroyed and each elementals went back to their own districts where they were later accepted even though they chose to leave for the United place.

This Newly Created "Union District" was forgotten and overrun by wild creatures and plants. But now.. after many generations, it is happening again, but this time it is led by children. Most of them just teens who are tired of being separated and want to meet others from outside their districts.

Our part: So basically we would be the kids/teens who do this, for story purposes, it can be said that all elemental mages go to school were they are taught in the ways of magic and learn to control it. So we all met there and school is ending and we are going back to our districts now that our magic is learned. From here we can also go a few ways,
1: We run away and go and live in the forgotten cities and face trials.
2: A Natural disaster/s comes and they must all keep peace within the districts well they come together.

Here is the second way this could go: The four elemental districts lay on the edge of an island, surrounding an inner district. This district was once occupied by the dark elemental mages.

This mages had control over weak minded people and it was said spirits. They were known for having telekinetic and shape-shifting abilities. Long ago a war was fought and the dark mages were destroyed. Now Teens/Kids(Us) who are gifted in small amounts of a sixth sense and strongly in their element have seen the Dark mages, wondering around in the districts disguised as normal elemental mages.

No one believes them, and when normal people start going crazy and people start dying the bond together to stop them before it is to late.

So here's our part: We are each a elemental mage, a young one, and we have a small gift of a sixth sense, not like.. OH I SEE THE FUTURE!!, but more subtle, the magical energy when a elemental spell is carried out, thus they can also see through magic spells and often determine between air, water, fire, earth, and dark spells. We each have strong power in each of our own elements.


Now how we could each be.
1. Elemental Mages who is paired with a dragon at birth and the dragon serves as a companion, mentor, bodyguard, a mode of transportation, or even a translator.

Dragons have are a source of large amounts of energy for mages to reach into if they are low on power. They also have small elemental abilities according to their master's element, they can talk to animals who are associated with that element.

2. Mage's are born with elemental powers according to their lineage. They also have powers with shape-shifting((Into creature of your choice associated with that element, but only one animal)) and telekinesis according to their element, Earth can move earth, but no fire.

3. Mage's.. blah blah element powers and has a small animal companion and friend with them at all times. ((Your choice of animal friend, but must be associated with element.))

Okay so basically, the two story lines, either way. But her is basic.

Story Line:
1. Separate Districts Goal: United District Main happening: Disaster/Live in forgotten city face trials+attacks of some sort. Special: Want peace

2. Separate, but at peace districts; Goal: Stop the Dark Mages; Main happening: Defeat the Mages all on our own. Special: We have sixth sense

Mage Powers and Companion:
1. Telekinetic, Shape Shifting((One animal)), elemental. No Companion.

2. Elemental, Telekinetic. Small Animal Associated to element.

3. Elemental, telekinetic. Dragon.


So Tell me what you guys think of this? I just wrote it all down so I didn't forget it, if we don't do it, forget this until later if we ever do another Rp.

In-humane Experiments
You heard about a project to end experimenting on animals, there were posters of it everywhere asking what you thought. You either liked it, criticized it, or didn't care, but signed your name under the corresponding column anyway. A few days later, you were walking home as someone shoved a sickly-sweet smelling rag over your mouth and a bag over your head. You woke up in a cage, feeling strange. Three walls of it were pressed up against concrete, but the wall in front of you was open to a hallway. And on the the other side of the bars, on the far concrete wall, you saw that poster with your name on it.
And your name was crossed out.

RULES!

1. No god-modding
2. No auto-hitting, only i can do that, and only if i have to!
3. Do not just go like 'ooh! an opening, i free now!' i decide how you get out of the cage and when.
4. I am god, my word is law! XD
5. Do not eat other people's chars. Cat no eat mouse, wolf no eat deer, that kind of jazz.
6. Type "stupid doctors!" anywhere if u read and agree to these rules.
7. No irregular colors. Like, no blue cats, and red dolphins, or green wolves with red eyes. Yeah, i said it, NO RED EYES!
8. Have fun. And if u don't, say hi to mister boot! (jkjkjk but do have fun)

Okay, it doesn't say it, but you are now an animal. Any animal, but not a neko of it or something. You can't speak human, but can understand human and your same species(ex: cat can understand cats, wolf wolves, etc. (great for private conversations! XD)) You will ether find a hole in you cage, get out when humans open the door, or another animal will let you out. I will decide, I'll either just put it in OCC or pm u(prob OCC). If you want an unreal animal (griffin, dragon) pm me!

and i've been thinking that there could be elemental dragons in it..but it wouldn't have to do with the story. also, yes this is all modern.

Anyway, back on topic... I really like the idea. One thing I just want to be clear on. Do you know now what direction the RP will be going? I'm not happy with an RP that will die slowly or come to an abrupt stop because the leader doesn't have an idea of what should happen next. Other than that, yay!
